Will Gaga ever get her edge back?

Featured Replies

In 2008-2013 Gaga had a unique edge to her that made her different. She was full of mystery, aura and wonder that made her legendary until she went too far. Instead of going back to the edge she had, she decided to strip everything back and be basic while other pop girls were able to benefit from having the edge she once had. She tried to blend in with the crowd and appease them but it did her music career no favours and just made her sales stall low for her past three studio albums. If LG7 ever comes out, will she be brave enough to follow through artistically or will she continue playing it safe and bland?

Even P!nk is "edgier" than Gaga is now. The last even remotely interesting thing she did was to insist R Kelly dry hump her on stage over a decade ago.

Let it GO!

It's obvious her priorities has changed, which normally happens when you get older. Stop being delusional. She will never be Lady Gaga from her early 20s from 2008 to 2013…

I have a feeling next album cycle she will shift her marketing and image to be more in line with classic Gaga, except more mature.

i really think at this point in her career, she should just continue in her real name. nothing she's released lately really invokes the "Gaga" part of what made her Lady Gaga.

And who exactly are these pop girls you speak off?
you guys always say this BS. Yet complain that she trying hard to be like her old self or she is a one trick pony. What Gaga been doing is the best for career for the last 10 years. She created her own path that your own fave can't even replicate.

its clear she's happy with her hollywood starlet career now. and lbr, people are over the whole weird, whacky, edgy gaga. it had its moment

I never realized one of them is wearing, like, pink H&M shorts :rip:

The Chromatica Ball and Joker 2 are edgier than anything any of these other pop girls besides Billie is attempting so :ahh:

and before y'all talk about "the music" are we pretending the remix album full of hyperpop acts doesn't exist? there's a clear edge to her work still and just because people that want her stuck in 2009 don't like it doesn't mean it isnt there. atp people want her to be a caricature of herself at 22 years old and thats plainly unrealistic. are we really acting like the 911 music video wasn't edgy now? y'all need to come up with new topics to make gaga threads about this is getting tired as hell

Let's be honest. No one ever get the edge back. Not just Gaga.

i hate this argument. ageing does NOT make you boring. beyoncé is 42, lana is a year older than gaga, bjork is 58... and all of them are still interesting artists

sadly that's what happens when you surround yourself with billionaires and all the superficial hollywood people you use to hate :celestial5:

No, her priority now is being palatable to the Hollywood establishment so she will never be the gonzo Gaga she used to be. Maybe a sanitized version of it like the Chromatica Ball.
