Definitively no, it's highly unlikely.

 

And honestly it shouldn't be unlikely, I would absolutely expect her to do 3.5M+ after:

• Apple Music created a "Taylor Swift" genre

• Instagram created the first ever refresh promo

• Spotify opened up TTPD pop-up libraries

• iHeartTaylor is playing her whole album across all their stations

• Twitter officially removed "Taylor Swift leak" from search results ahead of the album leaking

• All major US radio stations taking part in a "Twice the Taylor" where they play 2 Taylor songs hourly

• TikTok promoting her album upon opening the app

• UMG restored her music, first major artist to do so

 

It's a shame after all of this and those 5 vinyl variants with 1 new song on each of them, the album will not even crack 3M

The album has 31 songs, so she might do 310M ww or way more and she could have a full US tracking week way above 800M. How much did Midnights do? 

I heard Swifties she sold 2M just on pre-orders. It could happen, which is exciting. 

The desperation is there. She will have a meltdown if she doesn't get it.

She just released additional tracks. So, i think she might break it. I would be surprised if will not.

Even if she does , although that would be massive, but it won't feel the same. Adele's record was organic and effortless. She didn't need 31 songs , 5 vinyl variants each of them having one exclusive tracks manipulating die hard stans to buy all. She is yet to have a thriller, 21, 25, Confessions, or Britney's diamond album era without having to pull all sort of tricks and  multiple versions manipulation.

Shame? Even crossing 1 million or 2 million mark is a MEGA accomplishment in 2024. What 25 did was an exception not the rule

and mind you this album doesnt sound as commercial as midnights so the replayability is not that high 

Upon hearing it's now a double album, and side 1 is set to do 2M alone, I wouldn't be surprised if side 2 sells just as much. But it's all dependent on how quickly she plans to put the physicals of side 2 for sale and how many vinyl variants it gets

 

Btw she just scammed a bunch of her fans who bought all of those 5 vinyl variants, each one with 1 bonus track, just to release all of the bonus tracks on Spotify anyway 

 

Either way, now that it's a double album, something is telling me the sales forecast will increase substantially  and if she ships out special physicals for side 2, even worse. Second week sales should be interesting
