  1. This getting the airplay and not Defying Gravity is sending me. I mean, there should've been 0 singles for this soundtrack to begin with since it's way too showtune-y. But Popular being #22 at Pop radio rn is cute
  2. Can't believe people in here are still rooting for Kamala to re-run in 2028 not only did she lose the popular vote by landslide after all those endorsements, she also lost the electoral vote by a landslide. It proves too many people had a problem with her campaign and why would the Democratic party risk the next election trying to reconstruct her when they can just MOVE on..
  3. I absolutely agree, the people want that sound from Ariana and she refuses to budge
  4. Ariana should absolutely take advantage of this sound, she would sound so sexy in it. Some people want more 'vocally powerful and dynamic songs', I say enough of that because the GP doesn't care. She released my hair & supernatural (live) and they're still sleeping on her vocal masterpieces. She already missed her spot on the disco-pop train of 2020-2022, borderline allowed Sabrina to steal her sound and 60's inspired swag on Nonsense & Espresso, and also missed her chance by not releasing Fantasize. She needs to sneak into Tate's lane before another pop girl does.
  5. Funnily enough, this actually gave Chappell some points in my books I find her unbearable, from her attitude to just the simple theory that she secretly hates Ariana given her countless shady engagement on anti-Ariana posts on Instagram. But this? Chappell you may just be braver than every other pop star right now
  6. She spoke very real actually, heavy on that "vote for what's going on in your city". That's what really matters. I don't think she is a centrist for saying the truth. Neither candidate is good. And Kamala is not going to save this country either, how could she when her and Biden barely made a dent in their 4 years
  7. Did we want real answers as to why everyone is so openly racist to Indians, or was this thread opened just for "Thank you Elon" comments. Because if there were ever a Racism Hot 100 opened up, South Asians might very well be at #1.. people are racist because they're 2x racist, even to their own families if their skin happens to be too dark
  8. Well the majority of Indians worship the concept of whiteness and anything associated with it, especially if it's blonde and blue eyed. The majority also loveeeee Israel and America, but simultaneously have a hatred for Americans & Western ideologies. They love America for the education but with that comes their heavy disrespect towards dark skinned people and African Americans. I don't intend to generalize but the question at hand is why is racism against Indians so normalized (aside from the stereotype that they stink), these are the core reasons I've seen regurgitated online. And also personal experiences. I also don't think it's a coincidence a lot of the Indian hate comes from brown skinned people too. To put it plainly, a lot of Indians are also really racist and are notorious for reenforcing stereotypes as well!
  9. Her best songs, no debate, final answer: Kiss It Better Russian Roulette Hate That I Love You Where Have You Been Diamonds
  10. Short n Sweet is this decades My Everything by Ariana. It's even happening exactly 10 years apart. I won't even explain further, it's just common sense. On a side note, this generations LOUD hasn't occurred yet and that's ok.
  11. I'm afraid this title already unanimously (for the most part) belongs to Future Nostalgia. Hit after hit after hit.. yea they're not all #1s. But in the Tiktok/streaming era, that doesn't really matter when every single was a smash on social media.
  12. Incredible era this and 1989 were the last real commercial pop star eras we had, then we had a pop music drought for a few years.
  13. RIGHT NOW? Across the world: Taylor or Billie On music platforms: Sabrina On Tiktok: Cheapell Roan
  14. Swifties.. I was laughing at her, NOT OP. I am not on your side!
  15. Off topic but a quote on that tweet said Katy thinks she is Gaga. I find it funny how a decade ago, Gaga and Katy were in complete opposite positions. I'd argue Gaga was even jealous of Katy's success. I wonder how Gaga feels about Katy now, does Gaga look at Katy and chuckle knowing she had the final ultimate laugh
  16. Because Taylor let herself be very clear that she is not going to speak about something publicly if she thinks doing so might provoke those who would want to harm her fans who come to her shows. In cases like this one, 'silence' is actually showing restraint, and waiting to express herself at a time when it's right to
  17. All sorts of house music or songs with elements of house have been on the radio for quite a few years now. I want to say we are in a micro-era of house right now but it's getting more difficult to pinpoint where genre micro-eras start and end. I can confidently say that the latest prominent micro-era of trap/hip-hop era has finished, 2014-2021, peaked in 17-19, the micro-era of Spanish/English Latin pop 2016-2020, peak 17-18. It's getting more difficult to have prominent micro-eras when music is evolving and mixing so quickly. Just when we were having a disco/synth-pop revival in 2020, Olivia and TikTok blew up the bedroom room and pop-rock genres. Meanwhile Taylor & Billie were making alternative music mainstream. Suddenly country music has been huge the last 2 years.
  18. I feel like she's had ample amount of chances to turn her career around and prove to us that she can provide art. And she's taken those chances to serve us Never Really Over, Daisies, Smile, now 143. Notice how all of these are hot garbage? She doesn't know what she wants to do, she has no motivation, she doesn't have an ear for hits, and now she can only live on nostalgia her name sounds dated to the young audiences, what's done is done. I don't feel bad for her one bit.
  19. Some of these replies are showing their age because 20 weeks is not normal anymore in today's music climate, maybe in 2011. Even albums fifth singles spend 35 weeks at times (Get Into It Yuh and Feather, 37 weeks each). Regardless, the reason those two spent so much was because of radio longevity, and radio treats Ari horribly. I have no idea why WCBF was dropped, it had excellent callouts and they should not have been in such a rush to move TBIM to pop radio when it had rhythmic building. Can Republic not manage two simultaneous singles or what? Benson's Beautiful Things has been gaining nearly the same amount of sales and streams as WCBF but its performing excellently thanks to radio staying on board
  20. This song has been pulling almost identical stats to Benson's Beautiful Things in terms of streams and sales for a while now, it was the radio that lacked so bad. I do not understand one bit why songs like Feather or BT are adored by radio and basically carried by it, while WCBF was dropped. Didn't it have excellent callouts?
  21. Maybe her Illuminati contract was renewed a few years ago because it's like GP America collectively woke up and began to love this midweek this is absolutely heading for a #1 debut, it's literally pulling a We Can't Be Friends
  22. We haven't had a female singer hit rock bottom in a very long time, the music industry executives needed to witness this flat out flop era in real time to take some notes in their notepad. Ironically, they already had a full notepad from 2017's Witness but I believe it's good to have a refresher after Ariana, Taylor, Billie, Gaga's dominance since
  23. Gaga would have to approach the collaboration right, with a female singer like Shakira or Karol G and actually build a relationship with her.. not some random khia like J Balvin or Ozuna (neither of which have had a hit for a few years now). Similar to how she created this sense of kinship with Ariana during ROM Latin collabs with English artists require a sense of chemistry (Taki Taki, Tusa) to be a significant single or the song is immediately DOA (Del Mar, Hawái, to an extent Con Calma remix) if people deem the song a cash grab Gaga would also have to change her vocal tone. Her voice is too brash for most Latin beats, she has to sex it up and sound sultry. Like how she sang in 2010 for Alejandro even my aunt thought she was a genuine Latina after that song
  24. I still find it crazy that Gaga and her team were so hungry for another controversial Alejandro moment that they released Judas during Easter weekend looking back, that was very brave and intelligent but obviously way too brash. If BTW the single alienated her into a certain box/audience, Judas did nothing but further alienate her from the masses, she actually further lost the GP. So even though society has been further desensitized in the last 13 years since Judas, as seen by its excellent recurrent stats and newer audiences appreciating it, it was still a significant mistake. It damaged her image too much
