"Do you remember Gaga and her bubbles?"

“I can have hit records all day, but who ******* cares?” she explained. “A year from now, I could go away, and people might say, ‘Gosh, what ever happened to that girl who never wore pants?’ But how wonderfully memorable 30 years from now, when they say, ‘Do you remember Gaga and her bubbles?’ Because, for a minute, everybody in that room will forget every sad, painful thing in their lives, and they’ll just live in my bubble world.”

She had the foresight to predict her bubble dress at the time would be iconic...but probably not that it would get vastly overshadowed by so many of her other outfits in the next few years.

No, this look is forgotten.

It's up there with the LCD sunglasses and the disco stick.

This look is iconic; but.... I think people remember her "meat dress" look, more than anything. (The meat dress, has a WHOLE WIKIPEDIA page)

If you show this silhouette to most people they would recall Gaga even if they do not specifically remember it. Gaga still has the "weird look" locked down so they would automatically just assume gaga.

I just realized it is nothing but a tan leotard with plastic bubbles glued to it lmao.

This is early gaga, unrefined gaga. No one cares about this gaga. It's from meat dress up to now, that is what ppl care about... gaga

... first to comment I see.

I definitely don’t think of this first when I think “iconic Gaga looks,” but yeah, I think it’s pretty immediate as a reference. When you see it, you know who did it. Old school Gaga just had so many looks and moments that you just don’t forget, some of them kind of fall behind the others until you see it again. Like there’s this, the spark bra, the hair bow, the disco stick, all of VMAs 2009 and 2010, the 2010 Grammys, every Monster Ball look, the origami dresses, so many music video looks, so many performances. She came onto the scene swinging so hard every single day for years. :jonnycat:

This makes me realize that Gaga needs to suddenly serve a really weird look again if only to remind people who the hell she is. Hopefully Joker 2 will come through with some wild looks.

Bubble dress 2.0 also iconic.

This is the look that made me fall in love with her. I used to be obsessed with that performance of Paparazzi in her bubble dress :WAP:

There isn't an outfit she wore in her more eccentric days that wouldn't be remembered if you showed them a picture of it. That's the truth of the matter :coffee2:

If this look is forgotten then most pop girl looks are extinct from collective consciousness.

Hrs just being mad that Gaga had more outfits remembered than just a snake or an airline hostess. GAGA’S bubbles remain very much in public consciousness without even being in a MV :alexz3:

If this look is "forgotten" then so are many other pop star looks.

It's true, most looks are forgotten unless you are Madonna, Oops redsuit, Slave's snake, JLo's Versace or Rihanna's uneven bob, Gaga, Beyoncé, Taylor and all the rest have no remembered looks.
