    • Yes. The underperformance of Vampire is concerning, and she needs to prove she still has smash hit making capabilities.

    • No. I don’t think she has to rush out another single despite Vampire’s underperformance.

  • I think the song flopped because is bad. She probably has a G4U on the album but we should wait and see.

  • #4 US AM #3 US Spotify (60K difference from #1)   I think it's doing well.   Plus it already hit #1 on H100 & will be staying in the top 10 until the album release. It's

  • It's crazy how high the standards for her are after SOUR   Just because the song is not a Drivers License or Good 4 U level smash, doesn't mean it's not doing well.   For most other art

I think Vampire did amazing and you are meant to let people enjoy the moment, her radio is increasing too, definitely should not rush :giraffe:

I have a question tho?

Do you all think she should wait until the album to release the next single or should she have one in between?

Its kinda a short time because I want the sings to have a nice window for spotlight

A two month gap is good. Singles released after the album can be tricky in the streaming era so it's good that the second single is coming before the album, 1 week prior is my guess

And yet her lead single for 2nd album is already below a 4 year old song:rip:

Congratulations to that four year old song.  Vampire is still doing very well.

Vampire is doing fine, not every hit needs to make it to Billboard's GOAT list.

It looks like this era has Under My Skin written all over it, at least for now. An obvious decline from a massive debut, but still successful enough to maintain her relevance among her audience.

The way Olivia is smart enough to release a song in advance that wont overshadow the entire album like Miley and Harry did but still goes #1.

Shes smart and extremely careful in the way she handles her career. In what capacity is a #1 song on the Hot 100 and Global 200 a underperformance. Y’all act like it’s freefalling -40 spots in the second week bwhahaha

Oh this is interesting.  There is a recent trend of massive singles overshadowing entire albums: Miley, Harry, Adele…. Here she can build a lot of goodwill with the first song, have a major smash hit with the second, and still let the album shine as a whole.  Gosh, if that works, I will be super impressed.

The song is doing well enough but those trying to convince themselves that there's no need to course correct are in denial

I wouldn’t even release a second single. This era is already over. They should scrap the album and go back to the drawing board. The music isn’t connecting with the gp this time around

I'm totally sure that her team didn't think like this LOL :rip::deadbanana2:

I'm sorry, but not every one of her songs can be a Driver's License or Good 4 U.

The song is doing fine. Y'all acting like the song is barely charting top 20 everywhere.

Vampire is doing fiine—but it’s definitely not the multi #1 smash the people were expecting. I wouldn’t be worried about it right now since it’ll most likely sit pretty in the top 10 for a few more weeks.

Girl sit down pls. Using cruel summer’s resurgance as some drag like that isn’t an obvious outlier.

Olivia has three #1 singles (that actually feel like massive songs) before her SECOND album even is released. Taylor didnt achieve this feat until 1989 era :rip: almost 10 years in her career.

You can try dragging Olivia all you want but it will only make you look stupid asf. Shes WINNING honey. Seethe some more

The definition of a fad is someone who had immediate/short-lived success and fell off. Her first era being huge doesn't preclude her from being a fad. I'm not saying she is, because at the moment, it's just looking like a slight sophomore slump à la Billie. But nothing you're using against this member disproves the idea that she could end up looking like a fad or one-era wonder.

So you’re saying she planned her underperformance? :bibliahh:

The standard for is so high wow.. Do you want your faves to rush release a second single if its still doing these numbers on the chart?

#4 US AM

#3 US Spotify (60K difference from #1)

Gaining 1M+ on radio

Most pop girls can't even chart inside the Top 20 of AM after week 2. :dies:

It's not flopping but it's not as big as her first era. That still doesn't mean she's not smashing though!

It's called a sophomore slump.

So she slumped to a global #1? How awful. :toofunny3:

im saying she is saving the best for last. not that hard to comprehend sweetie

It's not exactly doing bad or flopping, a Hot 100 #1 isn't something to scoff at but it could be doing alot better.

Definitely feel like it's more of a drivers' license type song that would do much better in the fall or winter...people want something to dance & party to and upbeat songs like Cruel Summer & fukumean are giving them that. Not some song that starts off as a ballad and doesn't really start getting upbeat until mid-song/the very end. I do thing this will still have legs until around August though so there's really no need to rush-release unless she wants a flop/ actual underperformance in the bag imho.
