This is a music forum. We’re allowed to discuss why four year old Cruel Summer is outdoing the majorly hyped lead single from the sophomore album of one of the biggest young stars 

Meltdown?  

 

Girl you were literally waiting for over two weeks for the moment this song would fall behind Cruel Summer (by a very thin margin btw) and that got your tail waggling around.  

 

Of course this is a music forum and you are allowed to share your opinion, but people are also allowed to point out how dumb and incorrect some of your opinions really are. 

Let’s be honest, if it was any other of the regular ATRL favorites, we would have nonstop threads talking about how successful this song is.  
 

That said, I hope she does release another single in a couple weeks.  Having two smash hits before the album drop can help build excitement

That is like asking her to mimic Happier Than Ever's singles rollout, that is not we want. Rush releasing singles is for desperate people desperately trying to get a desperate hit before the album is release

 

Vampire is bigger than most of ATRL's faves recent hits but that is another discussion for another day

I don't think vampire was a good lead single choice for a summer release. I think everyone is craving something more upbeat right now.

I think Vampire did amazing and you are meant to let people enjoy the moment, her radio is increasing too, definitely should not rush

Here are the numbers of some recent MPG lead-singles in their second weeks. Vampire is literally doing much better numbers than her peers… but i never saw threads of any of these other songs “stalling” or “underperforming”. Hmm

Sorry but I stoped taken you seriously after that 

 

Let's wait to see if Olivia can archive what Taylor did with her 2nd, 5th, 7th, 8th and 10th album before you put Taylor's name in the same sentence as Olivia.

Let's wait and see if any of Olivia's #1 will be played in 15 years like Love Story still is and by the way, Taylor already performed in a  sold out stadium for her first tour without having a #1 ... stay in the streaming era because you know nothing about the digital era

I think the difference is that, while Vampire is most definitely still very high on the charts and a success. Most of these songs weren't losing streams in massive amounts or were staying relatively stable whereas Vampire is still falling in that area. We have no idea where it will stabilize yet so it is hard to get a grasp on what it's average will be from that point.

Oh absolutely, by the 2nd album Taylor was already showing up in every radio interviews, magazines, talk shows, etc. she can book. And she never stopped doing that until her 6th with rep.
