One time purchase >> Streaming infinite amount of times. I have no problem giving an artist their coins for excellent work—because at the end of the day good music is good music. I simply stated that I could always listen to the CD if I wanted to listen to the album again, which I currently have no desire to. Not the gotcha moment you think it is.

I haven’t listened to this album since the shirt incident, but luckily for me I always buy physical copies of albums I like, so I can just listen to the CD instead of streaming it. I can’t make the music not bop!

The first page basically summed it up, but I also think that doing some interviews would’ve done her good. When you switch up your sound—it’s important to emphasize the reasoning, especially when you’re trying to cater to a new audience. The only explanation we got so far was that her previous albums were cash grabs like okay, but what made you want to ditch the pop sound? What inspired you to drop a rap album this time around? Etc etc. She kinda just dropped the album, and dipped.

She’s definitely talented, but no one is going to take her seriously as “Lil Tay” It’s time to hang that persona up.

Well…kinda sorta. The “I hate my fans” scandal was pretty huge—not only on Twitter, but on TikTok and Instagram as well. The satanic imagery didn’t do her any favors either, but as we can tell from PTTR, the gp doesn’t really care about that stuff. But also keep in mind that her core fan base / gp likes pop Doja, it’s evident in the Scarlet thread. Doja wasn’t giving the pop hits so most people tapped out, and the numbers reflect that it’s a bit of a flop on arrival but she can turn it around still. It’s just a risk you have to take when you change your art direction.
