most white artists dont get dragged for attempting r&b. Ariana did a little bit but thats only because people brought up her using AAVE and the overdone tan. The problem with Taylor attempting R&B isn't because she's white, it's because she simply doesn't have the range. I think the lane she's in suits her brand well and it works for her because she knows how to pen a hit inoffensive pop song and has had consistent success for over a decade.
