And LSRF truly snatched Impurities from NJ's demo stacks (which have been discussed in this thread before) 

I don't think NJ's music is similar to RV's tbh. But they definitely have that artsy early-RV/f(x) aesthetic. 

 

I can imagine the RV girlies slaying Ditto though, if SM doesn't make it a scream fest.

Maybe you don’t listen to RV’s discography much bc they have released many rnb bsides since Automatic but NJ’s music is definitely in the vein of RV’s mid-tempo rnb bsides. Some more than others bc Hype Boy doesn’t give me RV but Attention, Cookie and OMG do.

NJ has definitely become the #1 gg digitally for 4th gen. I do not think IVE would be able to have multiple tracks smash since they’re a “title track” kind of group like TWICE was. 
 

NJ is like the first group since 2NE1 go genuinely be able to get smashes off multiple singles at the same time (BP only really did it with D4 and FY since BBY wasn’t nearly as big as Whistle in Korea)

That doesn’t make AL any less generic. IWS has been sampled many times to the point where the sound is honestly “generic” besides, the chorus to AL is so basic “you-u and I-I are more than like” like  

 

Ive is the definition of generic but that’s their point. They’re there to release generic bops to smash and promote Wonyoung

Similarly though, I’m happy that if any group is going to be the digital monster group of 4th gen it’s a group that at least does things a little different and brings something else to the table. 
 

Im not personally into NJ besides Hype Boy (OMG is ok though, I like it more than Attention and Ditto), but:

 

aespa: sound is dated and always a scream fest because of YYJ

 

Itzy: Not a single genuinely good title track

 

IVE: the definition of bland and generic music made for the purpose of smashing

 

LSRF: great performers but the music is a little too western sounding for me to get into. But at least their sound is also unique to them so far.

right RV never had a streak of singles this good

Didn't someone here say they killed their hype and momentum with Ditto when it dropped  The way only thing preventing OMG from PAK (if even) will be Ditto smashing too hard. Talent won

I honestly wonder what companies that have "weird" music (Nmixx, Kep1er) think when they see such "simple" and "basic" songs from groups like NewJeans and IVE smash easily

I really liked both OMG and Stamp On It. What a great start for this year. 

Not as good as Ditto & Hype Boy, but still a great bop
