SM is quite clearly not pushing her. She doesn't even have her own Instagram highlight on RV's page, so it's clear they are keeping her lowkey on purpose. Either that or it's her personal decision. She apologized to the public several times and obviously took her reflection/time out seriously.

 

She's been at the centre of several RV comebacks now and wearing brands etc as part of that, so if she was blacklisted, brands would be refusing her to wear their stuff etc. but they're not.

She is. Wendy have her radio show + GOT, Yeri is doing some photoshoots, attending events, and some acting. Seulgi had her solo +GOT, Joy acted in a drama in jtbc and Netflix  (she flopped) and have a program on tv. 

She never transitioned as an idol-actress…

 

Ageism is real in Kpop, but her peers like Nana, Marcella, Seolhyun, Suzy, Krystal etc were all able to transition in the acting world except her. Not 1 drama even when she was the It girl ??? It’s not like kbs drama are hard to get 

 

It’s been 2 years already. Like she was punished enough. When RV is going to be over, what will she do ?

I think it's probably due to time constraints.

 

They had to practice/record this at the same time as preparing their comebacks (Birthday and next aespa comeback), plus Wendy, Seulgi, Karina and Winter were preparing GOT The Beat as well and Yeri has had drama filming too.

For example, the digitals on “TOMBOY” were massive but because the album only sold 250k-ish, there was no profit. But “Nxde” has sold over 3x as many albums and actually made a profit despite only 200M digital points so far.

I didn’t say that she was over bc Birthday flopped, but her not having any sides jobs and if the k gp get tired of RV at one point, what’s left for her?

She did, she was global brand ambassador for Miu Miu (hf brand owned by Prada) and even attended PFW for the brand.

 

But her main money making was mostly through CFs not specifically fashion. She was getting so many car CFs, drinks brands CFs, cosmetics CFs etc and all of those added up meant she was absolutely massive and making serious money at her peak in SK.

She won't return to being the #1 It Girl like she was at one point, but I think at this point, it's obviously on purpose that she's not doing many solo activities, rather than being blacklisted/no offers.

 

Remember, SM has the other 4 girls to think about, so I guess they might be cautious not to move too fast and damage RV's image with a public backlash. I do feel like the public has mostly moved on though and Irenebar is still bigger than ever in terms of fan support.

 

I'm fine with this though because I'd rather that than taking the Lucas option. At least Irene is still promoting with the group.

 

It could also be her personal decision and possibly she might not renew next year when the contracts are up, so we'll see.
