France is the hardest market for any Western artist to break as they have an unusual snooty/uppity attitude to English music.

This makes even Wrecking Ball look like an average hit.

At least she knows how successful the song is. She posted a couple instagram stories yesterday about chartdata reporting that she ascended to #1 on the Global Spotify charts

Of the UK Top 10 songs last night, Miley had a share of 22% of the total streams, whereas her share of the Top 10 USA streams is slightly lower at 20%. Just wanted to put in to context that, if you adjusted for population, she’s actually performing stronger in the UK than she is in the USA (stronger day on day growth rate and higher % share of total streams)

Numbers in USA are obviously bigger, due to a bigger population/userbase, but once again % share of streams is bigger in the UK. Basically means there’s a bigger gap between her and the rest of the Top 10 in the UK compared to the USA, so she’s got a stronger lead here. Astronomical numbers all across the board.
