  1. Flowers was a phenomenon. Miley's fan base, which I'm a part of, is not very big. Just look at Something Beautiful.
  2. much better hold than I was expecting tbh
  3. Surprisingly good hold. Let's see what tomorrow brings
  4. In more concerning news, I am NOT liking what I'm hearing with these DJ remixes of Different Religion. I really hope the single version is a bop bc I'm nervous
  5. So then how is it over? If it picks up radio support and trends on socials with the album release it's a win
  6. Don't worry, it's going to pick up speed on TikTok this week + officially impacting radio, she's releasing another single, album next week! Everything's going according to plan
  7. I'll be happy with this given a surprise single with 0 promotion
  8. I'm frightened for tomorrow's update…
  9. Fair, let's see what else she has in store. It certainly doesn't pack the punch of Midnight Sky, Malibu, but I think is in line with EOTW, Flowers and WCS in terms of catchiness tbh.
  10. I fear the worst part about this is the first day streams at least showed people are here for new music from her…just not this specific song. I worry now people will tuned out the additional releases like they did with SB
  11. I completely agree. Or leaning into a pop-rock sound like Midnight Sky. I don't think she's catering to casual listeners or the bulk of her somewhat fan base with a song like this. So it shouldn't be a huge surprise that she's underperforming, but it is still sad. But also I don't think Flowers should be seen as the norm for her, it was a total anomaly.
  12. "Don't you want to dance" is extremely catchy. I don't necessarily know that catchiness is the problem….I can't pinpoint the exact issue, but if I had to guess it's that people would rather her go the rock pop route of something like Plastic Hearts vs techno pop. And the production is fine but it's not like a super slick, infectious beat à la Gimme More or Music by Madonna
  13. The only thing worse than this bombing is if the second song she releases this week is a true banger but no one listens/cares because they didn't like BP…which would kind of track with Miley's luck
  14. I do wonder if maybe she should've dropped a single and the album at the same time 🥲
  15. And if we want to talk about chores to listen to, Die With a Smile is the biggest offender of them all. Instant skip for me.
  16. I agree with you and echo your sentiments to a T. It's really hard to see her put out something like this, where clearly she wants to gain the mainstream appeal/success of some of her peers…and then just not succeed. I said in the charts thread that if she truly wanted to see success she should've went with a lead more in line with Midnight Sky/Plastic Hearts because I think that's where she shines and what people would love to hear from her. The problem (and not really a problem apart from the commercial part) is Miley is a free spirit who is gonna do what she wants.
  17. If we're being honest, she probably should've gone with a rock/Midnight Sky-type lead. That's her sweet spot and imo where she's most likely to find the most success. With that being said, this is Miley who is going to do whatever she wants. Gotta admire her free spirit even when it means suffering flops like this. I just love her so much and want her to succeed, so it's sad to see this.
  18. TEA. By this logic, so many of Miley's songs should have been massive hits
  19. I hope this debuts in the BB top 100 at this point
  20. Flowers was an anomaly because of the comeback/liam diss track drama narrative. Dare I say this is a better song than Flowers. It just doesn't have that extra stuff to become a TikTok/social media sensation.
  21. Well then let this be a wake up call!
  22. Very sad 💔
