Predict Beyoncé's act 2 sound..

Featured Replies

So after giving us a great  Dance/House album with act 1, what do you think/wish act 2 will sound like?

I dream she'll release a 00s rock album.. (like Evanesecnce, 3 Doors Down, early Avril, early Coldplay). Def My personal fantasy.

On a real note I do think she'll go country next.

What do ya'll think? Discuss

I am praying for a Rock/Country album. It would make such a statement.

Why do people want a Rock album from Beyoncé? All because of that Jack White collab? :rip:

Is it not Act 2: Visuals and Act 3: Tour?

No

I'd want a Rock-Country album or one that is inspired by Tina Turner, Rock-Funk sounds.

I like to see a Houston Country/Soul situation. Whatever genre route she takes she will put her own spin to it.

00s Rock from BEYONCE? :rip:

tbh i think she will dabble into reggaeton / afro beat influenced dance album for act. ii but still with a dark and experimental undertone similar to RENAISSANCE. Its a huge opportunity for her. She can collab with Bad Bunny for another #1 hit, she can do afro beat songs with WizKid. I think it would be extremely interesting direction. She did the house 70s disco for Act.i. For Act.ii i could see reggaton experimental afro beat and for act iii i can see jazz, orchestral

Maybe becouz her Sex on Fire cover on Glastonbury is one of the greatest things ever? She can totally nail rock.

MTE.

I even remember a handful of the Hive in the Base speaking as if a Rock album was a given. Very odd.

As for what it could or should be, I can't put my finger on one thing.

Being Chart Hive, I am loving the commercial success she's enjoying with the singles with Ren. It's so refreshing after years of her de-prioritizing singles. I say that to say, I want her to continue to milk a commercial sound. It'll do wonders for her SPS.

With that, if a sonic shift from Ren is happening, then I'd live for power ballad Bey. A Rihanna Diamonds tea. Big, bellowing, catchy, commercial, and timeless.

If the Country thing is a go, like others have said..it'd read much more authentic and interesting if it formed part of an "inspired by my Southern roots" project.

So everything from Daddy Lessons to No Angel to the sound in the Ivy Park Rodeo commercial. Tied together in a sonically cohesive way.

One more thing lol.

If she really is dropping three albums in total, it's kind of annoying the Afrobeats album was The Gift....timing-wise and the fact it was so clearly treated as a side-project.

It's easily one of the best things she's released (IMO) and would receive a much fairer due if properly pushed ala Renaissance. Before anyone starts, I'm not talking videos etc. But just the push label side.

She's obviously free to revisit the sound, but the weird response (from the very audience she was celebrating) as well as the fact it wouldn't be "new" terrain for her anymore makes me think it's a closed chapter for her now.

That, Hip-Hop Star, and her legendary covers of "The Beautiful Ones" / "Sex On Fire" at Glastonbury in 2011. To add to that, Arctic Monkeys (admirers from like 2007 :rip:) and Kings Of Leon (after her cover at Glasto in 2011) have expressed an interest in working with her, and she already has an unreleased track with Mumford & Sons that didn't make the cut for "The Gift"*. Beyonce has also expressed admiration for Dirty Projectors (already worked w/ Solange). Finally, we have her bestie Chris Martin from Coldplay, Blues-rock collaborator Gary Clark Jr. from the Stevie Wonder tribute performance w/ Ed Sheeran, and her past collaborator Bono from U2.

*If you don't believe me, there's a scene in her "Making The Gift" documentary for ABC where a massive whiteboard containing all of the songs they currently had on the drawing board was shown, and there was a record produced by Swizz Beatz and either written or featuring Mumford & Sons.
