  1. ATRL feels threatened by Wallen. His music is pretty sterotypical country but I'm excited nonetheless. 36 songs is a lot though... but his audience doesn't really care about that; they'll consume it like a long playlist and it'll boost the sales and streams tactfully.
  2. Idc this song is addictive and she ATE THAT UP. VOCALS???
  3. Love this. The new album is also really good. She deserves a hit
  4. Country-soul in the style of Yola, Chapel Hart, Black Pumas
  5. visual album? check. divided fanbase? check. bait-and-switch promotion? check. snyth-pop sounds? check. released in the fall? check.
  6. Speak Now Fearless TV reputation Red TV Debut 1989 folklore Lover evermore
  7. Golden Hour may not have "All Too Well" but Golden Hour also doesn't have "Girl at Home"
  8. I'd argue that Kacey displays equal writing to Taylor. & her topics have always been more mature. Better & more creative lyricism than Taylor in songs like; Merry Go Round, Dandelion, Step Off, Late to the Party, Biscuits, Mama's Broken Heart, Fine, Space Cowboy, High Horse, Rainbow, and a TON of her unreleased tracks OP: Here's to hoping there's nothing that sounds like Lover on Midnights!
  9. You haven't heard Step Off, Follow Your Arrow, Dime Store Cowgirl, Mama's Broken Heart, Biscuits, Butterflies, Wonder Woman, High Horse, Easy, cherry blossom, breadwinner, nor Blue Dream Baby.
  10. this is an amazing album!!!!!
  11. the beauty in this album is in its simplicity. i think maren knew what she had on this album wasn't radio material. and not all albums have to be. but this is the best choice, i think.

That's what I'm saying. I really thought by now she'd have it out but she hasn't even started to hint at it. If it's a long process of singles and press tours before the album we might not get it until 2023 and yeah, her career is old. She's mega successful but so many ATRLers see Dua as a "new" pop girl when her career started when 1989 era was occurring.
  13. if she's collaborating with blackpink.... keep it.
  14. Yeah I never said that every track on folkmore sounds like each other, I just disagreed with the claim that these music critics & journalists have saying it was this this Ray Of Light. I love Taylor & the two forest albums are among my favorites, my criticism comes from a deep place of love for Taylor. Therefore, I don't think that she pioneered any new genres or made a deep cultural wave. There is no big wave of folk music topping charts, unlike good 4 u & pop punk.
  15. i should OP: I want it to be like The Story Of Us, Enchanted, and DBTAC. I think it'll be like that, too.
  16. Y'all are too creative with these ideal genres. When has Taylor been a genre-blending artistic pioneer? Her country was basic. Her pop was basic. Even folklore and evermore were not the first steps into a new frontier everyone thought it was. it was actuall quite basic somber pop music. These dream pop, grunge, dark pop, synthwave, altnerative rock, psychedelic rock ideals are just so unneccessary and annoying. I just don't want you all to be disappointed. I am going into Midnights with as little expectation as possible.

I absolutely love this idea but it's sadly a far cry from reality. The country industry will always be hesistant to accept an artist like Beyonce (their loss) and this genre-switch would also ostracize her fanbase who do not identifiy with pre-concieved themes of country music. It would turn off a lot of people before they even gave it a chance. It's just not for everyone and I don't see beyonce doing much more than a little collaborative droplet featuring The Chicks or something.

We know our girl Bey would not release country music like Blake Shelton, Luke Brown, or Florida Georgie Line. That music is awful and Bey has a creative vision so much higher than that. Id love for her to take inspiration from the likes of Dolly Parton, Yola, Chris Stapleton. More like a soulful country sound with jazz, r&b, and southern rock influences. Yola is the perfect example. But actually, I’d love an album like Dawn FM or The Slow Rush.
  19. Speechless is so much better.

Okay I'm living for the hoensty going on in this base lately! Usually Swifties support Taylor's everything but the ways in which you worded her privilege compells me.

Love the intent, but I don't think it would be recieved well at all ??
