How did Beyonces writing camp end up writing worse lyrics than the usual mess Gaga writes herself is the real question .

They really are different. Chromatica is more dance/pop with minimal range, Renaissance has crazy range from disco to urban to hype-pop. I’d argue that Chromatica is easily digestible in comparison in a sense that she didn’t evolve much at all since ARTPOP, it’s what you’d expect from her and what you’d expect is catchy dance pop, it just wasn’t her best by any measure. Renaissance has superior vocals and production all around by quite a large margin, there’s way more depth.

I like Chromatica a lot, one of my favorite Gaga albums, but Renaissance is bolder, more adventurous, more creative, more ambitious, better production etc., as expected from Bey. An out of body experience, truly a spiritual renaissance :alexz:

Ren is Bey's biggest turd it is literally shocking.

5 bucks says you haven't heard it....but sure OBH we believe you.....:juanny:

I will need more time with Renaissance, but so far I like Chromatica better coz the melodies and vocals are straight up pop perfection. Renaissance is more interesting with the quality & thought put in the production while Chromatica has a better concept surrounding the album. I don't think either are that strong lyrically, but I've only played Renaissance once so maybe I just don't remember. Obviously it comes to preference, but Dawn of Chromatica shits on both & they can't come close (thank you Arca)

I've only heard Chromatica but I can't imagine it being better,

Now that RENAISSANCE is officially out in some regions; who made the better music utilising similar producers/soundscapes, & why?

Both better than any Britney album ever as they are always trend hoppy. Her big comeback song not being solo, being with a very old man, being a cover/tribute song AND being trend hoppy is an example of why her music's bad.

Haven't heard Bey's album yet but I imagine I'll like it better based on what some are saying about it. It took me time to come around to Chromatica because I thought it could have gone MUCH further (especially after hearing Sophie was involved, etc.). Gaga is capable of massively pushing the envelope but Chromatica doesn't demonstrate that. That said, it's good as simply a pop album.

Chromatica is more accessible and inspired by 90's type sounds where Beyonce's inspiration comes from a different era and is more experimental. You cannot compare apples to oranges.

I think Renaissance is miles above Chromatica. Renaissance gets better with every listen (atleast for the tracks that I love which is almost half the album) but I couldn't do the same with chromatica except a couple of songs.

I don't understand what the point of this thread is when both albums trail into different territories of dance music.

Bey was obviously going to venture into a different direction than Gaga, they are different artists with different goals for their music. Both did a great job with their bodies of work and we should all be happy that our favs are still pushing forth quality material after all these years.

This bizarre off topic flamebait meltdown :rip:

Haven't listened to Renaissance yet but from what people are saying it's amazing. Chromatica is really basic.

voted chromatica but still i really like a handful of songs from renaissance

Was this thread really needed ? I think in the whole world, only ATRL would think these albums are even comparable and #that album would get that much votes. :toofunny3:

Renaissance is a try hard mess. Chromatica is forgettable but atleast has ONE decent pop song : rain on me.
