Renaissance overall just comes off like a high budget, well produced mixtape, whereas Chromatica, although a bit less mature has so many bops and has less skips overall.

Summary: Chromatica has basic 2-3 minutes songs with super digestible, generic, radio-friendly structures (some verses have like, what, 5 words? repeated? lol) and is pretty much a McDonald's version of something like Renaissance where something new musically happens pretty much every 5 seconds and had a lot of thought and effort gone into it to create a body of work that can be appreciated outside Top 40 context or how "instantly catchy" something is. 

 

Bey challenges her listeners. Gaga doesn't. That's why any song on Chromatica can go to Ava Max while Bey worked on every element on Ren to make sure to have her stamp on it.

If you mean this, all you're saying is that Renaissance lacks cohesion/is disorganized (which I don't agree with). So conversely, Chromatica's songs flow better and and the instrumentation blend seamlessly in comparison.

No  Not having generic song structures =/= lacking cohesion or being disorganized  It just means what you're listening to is more musically complex. Is Jazz music disorganized by the same logic? 

 

You can add new musical/production ideas as the song is progressing to make the listening experience more exciting and dynamic and still have a common theme/thread throughout the entire record. These things are not contradictive.

Is that not called verses, pre chorus, chorus, and bridge? Chromatica incorporates all this effectively. It's just more sure of itself instead of trying to desperately keep its audience interested with "something new musically happening pretty much every 5 seconds."

After listening to Ren since release day, it seems even more useless to compare the two  They set out to accomplish completely different things and I appreciate both.

Chromatica is a better pop album made for radio, yet frustratingly she never bothered to push any singles after it dropped. Renaissance is a bit loud and heavy for my liking, and sounds like she just winged the lyrics while recording

So throwing in samples and a ton of clunky lyrics makes Renaissance better than Chromatica? I definitely respect both albums, but Renaissance has a ton of cringe lyrics. Alien Superstar could’ve been a cultural reset without the unicorn is the uniform you put bs. Challenging listeners is all well and good, but just because Bey stuffed Big Freedia and since deleted Kelis samples into her music doesn’t make it better.
