Her weakest market (of the semi-developed world) was South America - which she has never toured btw.

 

In Oceania... Mariah is like the 4th or 5th highest selling female albums act.

 

In Europe, Mariah is the 5th highest selling female albums act (#1 Madonna, #2 Céline, #3 Whitney, #4 Tina). 

 

Mariah Carey is the ONLY female recording artist having surpassed 30 million albums sales in 3 continents (USA, EU and ASIA). (Madonna is the only female recording artist having surpassed 12 million+ albums sales in 4 continents, 70 million in EU and the US, 20m in ASIA and 12m+ in SA).

Mariah is probably bigger, her career is nearly twice as long as Taylor’s

in terms of albums sales:

75 million - North America

35 million - Asia

30 million - Europe

4 million - South America

3,5 million - Oceania

1 million - South Africa

 

I don't know what Taylor sold in these territories in pure sales.

Mariah, but they’ll more than likely be even when it’s all said and done. Either way, they’ll be the two biggest and best female artists behind Madonna, which is…whew what a trinity. 

odd comparison but definitely Mariah. She had great success singles and albums wise in most continents.

You can't compare them by sales as they were from different sales markets... Mariah wins, but in a couple years Taylor will surpass her

Mariah is bigger in both America and Asia. Taylor can not compete with her or her legacy and nobody really can who’s come after her.

Mariah I guess. Taylor Swift has embarrassing sales in some of the biggest music markets in the world like France where her total pure album sales are like 200-250k (Rated R sold that amount alone), Germany with like 500k total sales (The Fame, GGGB, Born to Die alone outsell her entire discography), Italy, Russia, ex Soviet countries etc. Even in Japan her sales are average and her fans insist that she is huge in Asia (and no, those fake Chinese sales do not count).

It's not even close...

 

Mariah would still be the 6th or 7th biggest act in WW album units without a single US sale counted.

Taylor is smashing hard internationally with Midnights and she can actually sell out international stadiums so she wins! The stranglehold she has on the Philippines and China alone >>

Mariah is literally revered in the Philippines.
