Another indie pop girl lost to this identikit sound... someone FREE us from this never ending nightmare.

 

I have this on my playlist but every time it comes on I just get disappointed.  It makes Lucid sound like a masterpiece for her.

To be fair, you have to have a very high britishness quotient to understand Lucid. The quality is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of trashy UK dance hits most of the talent will go over the listener's head.

This is in her Top 5 best songs  better than the entirety of Sawayama basically.

Granted, it does sound like some of the fanmade Gaga demos leading up to PI but that‘s not a bad thing at all.

I didn’t like this on my first listen but it clicked? It’s actually really good once you get used to the melodies. A bop although she has much better!

Basically this, none of the singles from Sawayama bar XS were really THAT excellent, Chosen Family being way more bland and uninspired than This Hell. But she really delivered with an amazing album, and I'm sure it's going to be the same here.
