Yes Chenlegend lines, Yes good song.

I wanted to drag Beatbox before listening to it but it’s actually a really refreshing summery bop:gaycat3:

I am not American either, but Billboard is the biggest chart thing in the world. If you have made it in the US then that means that you have officially made it.

This is not even close to being true.

Yuna's time is over tbh, if Dalla Dalla failed to make her an IT Girl then nothing will.

JYP killed her momentum with the lack of solo activities & will likely do the same with Sullyoon :rainy:

Yes but within 10 years, South Korea has gone from small market to one of the top 10 music markets globally, so domestic success is only becoming more and more relevant.

Same as Japan and China which are huge markets and why companies/idols still always aim there as well.

In their 8th year and FMR has been huge for them. A quantum leap in physicals and one of the biggest girl group hits of the year so far.

RV got the last laugh I fear :cm:

It’s so crazy how a good amount of their biggest hits were released later on in their careers. Longevity queens they’ve been in this for the long haul. With this + their next summer comeback this year is looking to be a major success for them.

The BeYou festival is sold out and that venue has at least 15k-22k seats with majority coming for RV too. That world tour is coming

And in OMG's case they were quite popular before the show it was just a matter of right timing.

Maybe everyone will finally figure out that Queendom was a "hit" because Oh My Girl were on it and not the other way around. :fan:

Oh My Girl was like a cheat code for the show because they were a 5 year old group who still had the energy and ambition of rookies.  And that energy was also returned by their tiny fandom that punched above their weight.

The only thing about 2's lineup that had to potential to not be tired was the Kep1er.  But on the show the girls were often in situations where they ended up portrayed as tired, or dour, or just really unpleasant.  Or maybe that's just who they are.  Mnet, mission failed.

kpop albums going top 10 or even #1 on billboard is like… not that impressive

its just stans mainly from SEA bulkbuying from stores that count for billboard rather than hanteo

PAKs are so dumb. Who cares what song is #1 on bugs :rip:

It's bigger than spotify.kr!

Domestic charts/success is the most important thing for Kpop Groups (especially Girl Groups!) and not Billboard :rip:

Who cares about these local charts or whatever when JYP artists are smashing worldwide and topping and out selling western artists on Billboard :rip:

The big problem is the international public is more fickle than the Korean one. And outselling western artist is cute but when virtually almost nobody knows you... It's irrelevant to top the Billboard.

That's cute, but I'm not sure if the GP really knows who she is...

Just because loona is a flop in Korea doesn't  mean Chuu is...Ofc she has CFs because the GP knows here :rip:

All these WW stats are useless when you realize the KPOP boom will end up being a fad. When it stops being trendy these groups will only have Korea & some other Asian countries to rely on which is why I think at the end of the day domestic success is more important.

for one week and then free fall like a nicki minaj single :rip: that’s not popularity it’s bulkbuying that doesn’t even come from america, there are online stores that kpop stans use to count for billboard

at least local charts show what’s actually popular in korea but kpop will always be irrelevant outside of its niche fanbase in the west

not you believing conspiracy theories from txt stans :rip: "mainly from SEA" the way kpop stans keep treating them like villains even though without them you wouldn't know what kpop is :rip:

Yeah, I still don't know how the charting system works over there :skull: Like there are so many different charts such as Bugs, Hanteo etc., which is very complicated. :rip: And I don't know how their music shows wins work either :dies:

bugs, melon, genie, FLO are streaming services like spotify and apple music. hanteo is an unofficial album sales chart, gaon is the official chart, it has both album and songs charts

Lmao. Many artists that never charted on Billboard are 100x bigger than Nicki Minaj etc.

Congratulations you were brainwashed by the US.

mhm sure.

this is also fans traveling from south east asia? 140k tickets sold

Most of y’all are international stans and have been Kpop stans for a decade now. But you think international stans are less loyal than the Korean GP especially when kpop doesn’t seem to slow down :alexz2:

I’m sure the 4th gen generation will have a better longevity than the previous ones (exc Twice, BTS, BP...)

Any Kpop act touring in the US and Europe got huge attendance because a lot of non fans or multi goes there since not that many group are coming... I mean I'm not a Blink by no means but I saw BP live.
