Of course I don't deny what's going on in the rest of the region, so good for you all. It's just that SEA shouldn't be treated as some kind of monolith. Vietnam is culturally part of the Sinosphere, which might explain why we still embrace Confucianism among other things and why we're ethnically different from our neighbouring countries. But yes, I'm really happy for the entire SEA for prioritising their own music industries, just as much as I want V-pop to become the next big thing. V-pop has been gradually garnering acclaim on websites like AOTY.org and it's been satisfying to see the industry grow substantially.

I never said V-pop isn't thriving on its own but K-pop and the local music scene should be able to coexist

I'm Viet myself and K-pop remains very big in Vietnam, with acts like Cortis and BTS dominating the charts at the very moment. You can't just generalise us like that.
