if it's all bad it would be 0% on rotten tomatoes. Stop putting needless negativity in here like why are you constantly feeding that vibe here?

Right? What a miserable soul, like its not that serious :deadbanana4:

When something like this happens, I always wonder if the actors realize they're doing a bad movie or if they are just surprised with the final result

Maybe it's good that she was reduced to a supporting role, more chances for an Oscar yass

Movie is getting panned, box office will be ok but way lower than the 1st one which means most of the talk around its performance will be negative.

I wouldn't hold my breath for a nod... but who knows

I'm talking about social media. Everyone who saw it is saying how disappointed they were with it.

Not everyone. It's your algorthim. Maybe stop searching or looking negative reviews or reactions for JFAD or anything about Gaga. You're always bringing the negative reactions on your social media.

Gaga happily saying "I love a porch" on Jimmy Kimmel is a full circle moment from the Chromatica sessions when she was in a bad mental space and Bloodpop had to pull her out of another porch

I would rather her not getting any award nominations in the award season, the JFAD talk will dies down when LG7 lead comes and she can focus all in music instead of getting reminded by nominations. When she announces her next movie/show people will still be excited regardless.

Yeah, some here are being ridiculously dramatic. There isn't one actor that doesn't have a bomb or no1curr film in their filmography. I remember seriously following awards season for the first time ever in 2018 with ASIB and being surprised at all the big actresses like Julianne Moore, Nicole Kidman, Kstew etc having films out that either bombed critically or commercially (in some instances both), or sailed off to the direct-to-streaming ether after being released. Natalie Portman in particular had back to back bombs during festival season that year (the movie she did with Kit Harrington that year got lashed majorly). Natalie then did Lucy in the Sky (about the psycho diaper wearing astronaut who tried to murder her romantic rival), and it bombed yet again. This is just how it goes, and I highly suggest those getting in a tizzy about this film's reception to put their big girl pants on & grow a thicker skin. :coffee2:

But its mostly like that, I only see Monsters praising the movie.

The movie hasn't flopped yet but It doesn't look good. This movie got worse reviews than the last one which got pretty bad reviews itself, The hype seems dead, the good reviews it is getting mostly aren't raves either. It could still end up a hit longterm. Or maybe the presales aren't a good predictor that can sometimes be the case. I don't see an Oscar in it for her either. Maybe a nomination but then she didn't get one for HOG. The movie has to have something to push that narrative and while her personal reviews are not bad it isn't even like HOG where she's getting a lot of raves for her performance. It's more like Pheonix was great and Gaga was good too. It doesn't seem like she gets much of a chance to really act and her scenes are mostly the songs. A few reviews have said she gets no development so there's nothing much there for her to perform probably because they cut a lot of her scenes.

I don't think it'll be a hit long-term either

Word of mouth will be awful (the ending + musical + the fact everyone seems to agree the sequel is pointless).

It for sure won't be a commercial failure (pretty sure it'll gross enough to be profitable) but yeah. Not every movie she's gonna star in will give her Oscar buzz.

Her getting a nod in ASIB is impressive. It took some big actresses YEARS of movies to get one, so.

The flopping will only have negative effect on Todd, even Phoenix will come out of it unscared because he is still a talented actor.

Gaga actually benefits from this movie. For GP they might finally see her as a serious actress despite the movie is bad, For studio they now know how valuable her star power is and will actually utilize her better when proposing a project to her. For her, she got to improve her acting skills, she healed herself into a better person after this movie, and maybe learned a lot about picking better script and how to do interviews. For fans, they got to see her fav acting/singing her butt off, it's already an win.

Even Taylor came out of Cats without any damage, and that is horrible acting with horrible movie. She will be totally fine.

Omg I just saw the Kimmel performance :WAP:

The growls she's doing on Harlequin giving me hope that's something we'll hear on LG7 too

My session is today. Who else will see it today?

Seeing it tonight in a packed theatre!

Cannot wait to see how many people walk out of the movie once they realize it's a musical.

You said it, it's not that serious to be calling people's soul miserable :deadbanana4:

not even a top 10 debut for harlequin despite the promo and being legitimately good (her best jazz album to date) ? lms from usa are truly useless brats. always bragging about gaga's talent and versatility and yet refusing to support her when she's not 'serving *****-y' and releasing dance pop for gay clubs. i hope she doesn't feel discouraged and stays focused on her film career and releasing more adult contemporary after lg7. she has too much talent to be stuck in a pop star prototype from 15 years ago that some people can't move on from it.

One with common sense would argue she was actually inspired by, you know, a harlequin considering her role as Lee... but what do I know?

Or maybe she saw tears of a clown and approached Joaquin to do a sequel....

the film twitter hates joker since forever. why would they support the sequel?

Maybe acting isn't for the BAFTA, Golden Globe, Critics Choice, SAG, and Oscar-nominated actress. :deadbanana:

Do some of you comprehend the words that flow through your brain before posting them? Zero actors would have a job if they gave up after a flop movie since, you know, they all have "flop" movies. The only reality check needed is among fans like you who cannot function in the real world unless your fave popstar gives you something to brag about to strangers online. :rip:

Ga's on her third movie and will get better at picking projects. She puts her trust in these directors and unfortunately the last two have failed to utilize her talents. That's not on her, nor is it a reason for her to quit. What an absurd thing to posit.

All Im saying is she wasted 2 yrs for a 10 minutes screen time and gained nothing out of it? 2 ****!NG YEARS. Thats a lot of precious time in a pop stars life.
