November 11, 20232 yr comment_24861341 It's crazy how many times the Artpop rollout changed before the release. While we were wondering what Artpop was going to sound like back in 2012, MANiCURE was already planned as the lead with an extremely raunchy, star-studded music music video (that was going to be the final entry in the Paparazzi trilogy). I wonder how that would've done and what that era would've looked like in general. And the pop-rock sound of MANiCURE sounds nothing like what we were expecting at the time (anyone remember those rEaL aRtPoP sNiPpEtS videos on Youtube that were basically 2-3 seconds of trap-infused EDM ). I love learning about how her albums evolved behind the scenes (like Chromatica originally being titled Free Woman, Perfect Illusion being recorded because Interscope thought Joanne needed a lead, Artpop (s) being the first recorded for the album, Stupid Love being the first song recorded for Chromebook, ect.) And while I'm not expecting this, I do hope Tea l-words some day. That was always my most anticipated Artpop song.
