She definitely is belting through the entire song. It's going to be hard for her to sing this live night after night.

Maybe it's my headphones, but her vocals are crystal clear throughout for me? The only time the production drowns her out is right at the beginning of the chorus, but that only lasts for a brief second.

 

The irony, though, is that the production calls back to Born This Way with its tinny and sharp sound.

I want to like it but its not clicking with me. I'm disappointed not in the song, but in myself for not being able to like it. I didn't have high expectations because I just figured it would be like most soundtrack songs today that are forgettable which is kind of what this is to me. It does the job similarly to a Diane Warren song, but its just kind of mediocre. I wouldn't call it bad, its better than TIHTY so theres that but idk. I thought I was getting into it at one point because it has all the elements that should make it amazing but it just doesn't get there for me. Its just a little droplet so its whatever and maybe it will grow on me over time but I'm happy for those that love it.

So again, y'all don't know what a melody is.  Were you expecting something experimental for a song designed for a $150m budget movie aimed at the general public?

Some of the most iconic melodies of all time are literally nursery rhymes.  

The straights and casual music listeners may like this song but avid music listeners especially gays want that USP that a ballad like ARUTW or is that alright has...

 

Honestly don’t know what y’all are stanning if you think she’s a bad songwriter who “needs the guidance of a songwriter”. Is she in grade school? Does she need someone to hold her hand? Just unstan if you think can’t write a damn song herself tbh. 

The writing credits have her as Stefani Germanotta 

A few thoughts:

 

There's something about the song that makes it not easy to remember for me. Are there too many different lyrics? Is it the melody? IDK.

The production (minus the horrible intro) is FLAWLESS.

Her vocals might just be the best they've ever been.

 

All in all, cute song. Not nearly as catchy as Shallow but that's fine. The fact that she's excited about her own music is enough for me to be happy for her. I hope this succeeds so the few people dragging her and the song will finally stop. This base gets more and more tiring by the day.

Of course this song is better than TIHTY.... But it kinda reminds me quality wise to Rise by Katy perry... Lots of words but a bland chorus...

I actually love the VOCALS here, vocally demanding but not DOPEd..

very Before I Christ which is very underrrated but i loved

 

Again, my problem is the chorus served no memorable melody at all.. let's be honest, if the notes are played on piano wothout words you can't tell what song it is .. 

Loved the song. What is lacking, maybe, in the chorus, it is compensated during the bridge. Production seems fine to me, loved the vocal production more to be honest. Lyrics very relatable. 

Whether this fanbase adores it or loathes it, one thing that's for sure with every Gaga release is that it will be critically acclaimed. A living legend respected by her peers and by the media/culture.

It's a cute pop ballad but I actually wished it lived up to the 80s stadium rock ballad it was hyping up to be. The guitar solo and the violin needed to be more amplified instead of taking a backseat and letting the production muffle it. The intro isn't too awful but its annoying having to hear it constantly when you have the song on loop. The song is still very much a fluffed up pop ballad. The lyrics are far from being her most creative or thought provoking but it works as a soundtrack song. I feel like Mark Ronson would have pushed her further to making an actual 80s stadium rock song with no pop fluff and on the nose lyrics. I still rate the song a 7/10. It's not her best ballad and it doesn't compare to Shallow or ARUTW but it's still a decent pop ballad and the people that are lying about TIHTY being a better ballad are doing too much
