Honestly don’t know what y’all are stanning if you think she’s a bad songwriter who “needs the guidance of a songwriter”. Is she in grade school? Does she need someone to hold her hand? Just unstan if you think can’t write a damn song herself tbh.

Seeing people say that one of the best pop songwriters of all time "needs help with songwriting" is a ******* joke. Giving co-writers all the credit when they know damn well it is Gaga who's coming up with the melodies and lyrics, is pathetic. They can never give Gaga herself the credit.

A few thoughts:

There's something about the song that makes it not easy to remember for me. Are there too many different lyrics? Is it the melody? IDK.

The production (minus the horrible intro) is FLAWLESS.

Her vocals might just be the best they've ever been.

All in all, cute song. Not nearly as catchy as Shallow but that's fine. The fact that she's excited about her own music is enough for me to be happy for her. I hope this succeeds so the few people dragging her and the song will finally stop. This base gets more and more tiring by the day.

It's just not catchy at all.. i also love the production and the vocals.. the melody is the weakest link :giraffe:

The part which you guys seems to like, the post bridge hold my hand, my hand... Reminds of Hair from BTW( my hair, my hair), which was my least fave song from BTW...SO that's triggering me a lot ???

The intro reminds me back when we had to carry cd  players and when my mom would hit a bump in our mini van and the song would start skipping :ahh:

Many liddos admitted YESTERDAY they were underwhelmed by Shallow when they first heard it, now people trying to rewrite history to make themselves feel better:deadbanana2: I wish the old base still exists and I can find counteless drags about Shallow being boring:deadbanana2:

Of course this song is better than TIHTY.... But it kinda reminds me quality wise to Rise by Katy perry... Lots of words but a bland chorus...

I thought the same

This fanbase not liking something means the GP will actually enjoy it. Let's wait for 2-3 more and then we should thread them to drown out that OGH'd Sl*nt one :gaygacat4:

i screamed at how fast they could come up with a new article :ahh: they're truly obsessed

girl i was explaining that to someone saying the chorus has no melody :ahh:

Wait a minute... I think you're onto something with the 'Hair' comparison. 'Hair' also pulls from big 80s stadium rock so this is a comparison that actually makes sense. And I love 'Hair' so maybe that's why this song has me.

At least we can all agree that the CHORUS is not memorable at all :giraffe:

The Madonna fan clicked submit before any of us heard it sis asdfgh :bibliahh:

and about the Hair comparison, the first Hold My Hand belt during the last part sounded like "This is my praaaaaayerr" which is a slay

Yeah I can agree with that.

That said, I do have the song on repeat and I enjoy it quite a lot!

yeah its kinda right song is little forgettable, u cant remember its words or melody after listening to it

would fit as an album closer or track #13

We all know that obsessed loser over at Sl*nt had the article typed AND reviewed AND approved since April 2020 when RideOrDie teased a Top Gun soundtrack single.

It took me five listens to be like, "yeah, this is so good".

There is no way y'all are trying to come for the lyrics, though? These lyrics are top notch?

My favorite thing is how she ends some of the verses with words that lead to the next. She's done that before but I can't remember the song. I find it very melodically pleasing.

Hold my hand, everything will be okay

I heard from the heavens that clouds have been grey

Pull me close, wrap me in your aching arms

I see that you're hurtin', why'd you take so long

To tell me you need me? I see that you're bleedin'

You don't need to show me again

But if you decide to, I'll ride in this life with you

I won't let go 'til the end

Raise your head, look into my wishful eyes

That fear that's inside you will lift, give it time

I can see everything you're blind to now

Your prayers will be answered, let God whisper how

I know you're scared and your pain is imperfect

But don't you give up on yourself

I've heard a story, a girl, she once told me

That I would be happy again

That being said.... I did not like shallow initially as well. And I still feel ARUTW and I'll never love are better. But straights loved shallow because of the emotions attached to the movie. So may be after being charged up after seeing the enthralling ending of top gun, they could be swept up by the emotions of hold my hand. No wonder most of the movie critics were loving the song... So I expect this song to have an impact!
