Lady Gaga

No, they don't have anything better to do. Nothing makes them angrier than people liking something Gaga-related that they don't like. They're like the bullied, loser kids in elementary school who think everyone has to be miserable because they are. :rip:

A few things:

1) Not sure why this is being compared to any of her previous work, even ASIB. This is a standalone song meant to invoke the feelings of the movie. She was given a brief and she nailed it.

2) I'm pretty sure many of you don't know what a "melody" is because this song clearly has one, and a strong one at that.

3) This does not sound like 'Before I Cry'. I know you Little Monsters have very narrow reference points and listen mostly to just Gaga and other popstars, but just because two songs are power ballad-y does not mean they sound alike.

4) This is a full-on cinematic movie power ballad that invokes the feelings of the 80s - early aughts when big movies were accompanied by big songs.

5) The lyrics are phenomenal and are some of her best.

Some of you went into this not wanting to like it; it's clear with the 'Shallow' comparisons that you're reaching to compare it to something you know was an instant success. :rip:

:clap3:

Nobody said back then that Shallow was bad.

Most of us just didn't like the live version and the noise. Shallow had a killer chorus and an amazing melody, unlike HMH

You don't live in the real world, then. The reactions to 'Shallow' initially were bad. There were several accusations of "Dope vocals" thrown around and this fanbase was in a tizzy until the public decided it liked the song. As usual, of course.

things that it could have been better:

  • remove that horrible intro
  • the pace, structure and chorus are too plain and predictable
  • the vocal in post-chorus to bridge to outro sounds a bit straining

overall, it's a cute throwback-vibe power ballad for an established franchise so it's gonna be fine. it's definitely more enjoyable than some of her ballads say Dope and Till It Happens To You. i do see the potential of this being a wedding must-have song tho :rip:

Edited by truthteller

aand the "no melody" narrative is soooo stupid :deadbanana2:

the post-chorus alone has a great catchy melody

and the chorus itself has an easy to sing melody

y'all just talking out of your asses :deadbanana2:

Not topping the United States even after 8 hours is kinda embarrassing....

And only having 300k on YouTube in 8 hours is also embarrassing:rip:

My only hope is the promo cause of the movie and that the GP will love the song ,so it will have longevity

If this song becomes a hit or wins awards, those who don't like it sure will add its accolades to their signatures. :rip:

Not to toot my own horn but :gaycat6:

Y'all look out for HMH visual on the sub

Hearing the song while putting it together all for the first time was funny and it'll probably be the better visual than the music video

The problem with this song isn't small complaints like the intro or something like live effects on Shallow.

Ya'll are trying to make yourselves feel better by comparing it to Shallow criticisms which were of completely different nature because nobody disliked the song itself.

And 2pm in Europe and i guess 10 pm in Asia

If I nitpick something it’s not the intro.. it’s the production is too loud and her vocals are too low. Feels like she’s screaming to match the volume.

Gaga needs to write ballads with the help of Hillary Lindsey. They write only good songs together....

Nobody who likes the song has to "make themselves feel better" because they like the damn song. They're happy with it. The only people struggling here are the ones who hate it and hate seeing others like it. This happens with every single Gaga release.

And you're just lying to yourself if you think the reactions to 'Shallow' weren't similar.
