So playlisting? Is it just in one playlist with 2.5M followers? :spin:

At least we still have the premiere later today!

I read it has an outstanding 4M playlist reach

Wow I wasn’t expecting such negative response to the song but I can sympathise.

I didn’t love it but I didn’t dislike it either. It’s like a song in between Joanne and ASIB.

I do agree that it lacks momentum and it goes nowhere but the lyrics aren’t that terrible.

I don’t think this song will do anything for the film or Gaga’s career and that’s fine. It’s a ASIB reject after all so we kind knew what was coming our way.

It’s honestly funny how the same 5 users that “hate” the song keep posting over and over again saying the same thing. 15 posts in an hour, do you have nothing better to do? Just become a full fledged OGH and leave the base alone

My first impressions comparison

Perfect Illusion - too shouty, had a full-blown meltdown

Million Reasons - was like "she should release it as a single"

Shallow - the chorus took too long, the vocals are not as polished as the trailer version, and the mixing are kinda muffling the vocals plus the audiences and claps but the chorus and chords were catchy

ARUTW - perfect just perfect

STUPID Love - noisy, loud, dated, shallow lyrics and cheap MV but catchy

RAIN ON ME - Love everthing about it at first listen.. wished that the choruses were like the last chorus tho

Hold My Hand - scary intro, beautiful vocals and production but no memorable/catchy melody.. the chorus was a huge let down..

No, they don't have anything better to do. Nothing makes them angrier than people liking something Gaga-related that they don't like. They're like the bullied, loser kids in elementary school who think everyone has to be miserable because they are. :rip:

A few things:

1) Not sure why this is being compared to any of her previous work, even ASIB. This is a standalone song meant to invoke the feelings of the movie. She was given a brief and she nailed it.

2) I'm pretty sure many of you don't know what a "melody" is because this song clearly has one, and a strong one at that.

3) This does not sound like 'Before I Cry'. I know you Little Monsters have very narrow reference points and listen mostly to just Gaga and other popstars, but just because two songs are power ballad-y does not mean they sound alike.

4) This is a full-on cinematic movie power ballad that invokes the feelings of the 80s - early aughts when big movies were accompanied by big songs.

5) The lyrics are phenomenal and are some of her best.

Some of you went into this not wanting to like it; it's clear with the 'Shallow' comparisons that you're reaching to compare it to something you know was an instant success. :rip:

I hated the crowd noise and thought it would flop. Little did I know :jonnycat: TAW.

You always carry your posts with a handful of insults, and it's really not nice. There are ways to approach things, and your way is not it.

Because of the "LIVE" Version

HMH just lacks melody mefears.. a huge letdown since she always served melody, that was her strength :chick3:

I'm just staking my claim in liking the song. If it smashes, y'all will all flip, but if it doesn't do much everyone will flip against it.  It's so predictable.

Not topping the United States even after 8 hours is kinda embarrassing....

LOUDER. Pathetic behavior. Like, go talk to a friend :deadbanana:

I will stop with the insults when Little Monsters stop being so insult-worthy. This fanbase is filled with the dredges of society who hate themselves and take their mental health issues out on a woman who does nothing to deserve the treatment thrust upon her. Little Monsters have limited to no life experience and it is clear every time they react to something with the most shallow comparisons and reactions.

** Not all Little Monsters; there are quite a few of you who know what you're talking about.

I will concede the chorus is the weakest part of the song, but the "no melody" thing is just objectively wrong. Just another example of Little Monsters seeing one person criticize a song and repeating their talking point over and over without knowing what they're talking about.

Wow the song is great. The intro is weird but not as bad as y’all make it seem to be.

Nobody said back then that Shallow was bad.

Most of us just didn't like the live version and the noise. Shallow had a killer chorus and an amazing melody, unlike HMH
