The verses are catchy. I already forgot the melody of the chorus..

Hold My Hand is better than Shallow 

I think the music video will help it, as often songs from a soundtrack don't work by themselves without visual cues. 

 

But I like the song. It is essentially what I expected when I heard the snippet, a schmaltzy cheesy 80s-90s stadium rock inspired ballad. 
 

Anyone who dislikes the intro is a tasteless loser though. I was hoping the song would have similar sections or used the glitchy stuff more throughout the song. Ah well.

Yeah considering the context of this being a song for a movie about dudes in fighter jets, the intro is giving broken radio signal and makes emotional sense; it is however jarring and unfortunately also brings to mind Bloodpop’s worst traits as a producer. I’m glad the radio version cuts this.

I listened to Hold My Hand again after an hour and wow. It's a masterpiece. I love it!!!

I know damn well some of you are gonna regret saying it's her worst ballad.  

 

Does someone else feel like it's a heavy song to digest? It came on shuffle using song radio and I kinda had to skip it because it was too much when I'm tryna make avocado toast.

Anyway I have the “Hold my hand, hold my..” bridge stuck in my head on a loop. Even with reservations Gaga knows how to kill a top line.

TITHY is so bad, I was rooting for it cos of its Oscar chances but the lyrics are so elementary school and the vocals were so grating. Anyone who thinks it’s better than HMH needs their ears checked.

It's not her worst ballad, it's a grower indeed BUT since the song is for a movie it has to be an instant classic.

PPL gonna listen to it once, in the movie, and if the song doesn't hit HARD, they won't bother to listen to it again.

 

Shallow was the epitome of that, unlike HMH
