But it IS appropriate. Do you even realize that it's a song for a Top Gun movie that invokes the same emotion as the big 80s power ballads? :rip:

Besides, the shitting over this as if we have even seen the context in which it's used in the film :rip:

OH, I agree that it fits in this particular song. It also fit Shallow.

Sadly, it's the song that just isn't giving.

Yeah, I remember needing to defend Shallow from half of you, and now you’re the same people saying it’s something she can’t match. :rip: Give me a break

This will not come close to Shallow. :) Deal with it.

I don’t know why people would expect vocals like ARUTW in a stadium rock track. :rip:

Her vocals on the verses are already very smooth

It's true tho. You couldn't find one positive comment from the base about Shallow when it came out:rip:

Imagine hating Hold My Hand.

You guys really deserve multiple eras full with Stupid Love, Joannes ,Jazz and Dope vocals

its an inoffensive soundtrack song with theatrics :toofunny2: there is nothing hate-able about the song... of course everyone is allowed to dislike things, but it just comes across as 'toys out the pram' cause it ain't dance :rip:

Also the comparisons with ARUTW need to stop. It's a completely different emotion, a completely different vibe, a completely different character singing it. This is NOTHING like ARUTW and thank goodness because NOBODY wants rehashes of the same ballad over and over. I'd rather she takes the classic songs from history as a template than her own.

I like the song its ok but Bloodpop needs to go asap. Basic production. I really don’t get why she’d recruit Bloodclot of all people to produce a ballad when it’s literally the opposition of what he’s known for…

It's not her worst ballad, it's a grower indeed BUT since the song is for a movie it has to be an instant classic.

PPL gonna listen to it once, in the movie, and if the song doesn't hit HARD, they won't bother to listen to it again.

Shallow was the epitome of that, unlike HMH

Shallow was literally the center of the film. This is basically a glorified end credit song. At least try to make sense.

I was obsessed with Shallow since the trailer came out.

HMH doesn't come close to the feeling and the vibe i got from Shallow. It won't be a smash, that's for sure.

Live performances of this are gonna kill us all probably

TMBA had the same placement in the first movie and it was memorable.

It hit you since the very first second either you like it or not.

Yeah, the song lacks an iconic memorable moment, but we'll see. If Easy On Me is able to smash that hard, I don't see why HMH can't be at least a hit. Adele is bigger than Gaga now, but the song is the theme for the biggest movie of the year commercially, you'll never know what happens.

Exactly.

I can't believe she didn't take notes from the classic TMBA to make something melodic, nostalgic and timeless.

Well this is unfair, how you can compare one of the most iconic openings of all time aka Shallow's with these gibbons sounds from Hold My Hand
