It's amazing to me that after the lashings Joanne was given, it's now being used against Chromatica. This happens with every album, and it'll happen with Chrome too. "This new album sucks, even Chrome was better". :rip:

This is the tea :rip:

Happened with BTW and AP

AP and Joanne

and now Joanne and Chrome :rip:

Anyways, I'm excited that it seems like GodGa has been inspired creatively since the Chrome Ball. Excited to see how this will translate to her musical output, assuming that she's not trying to record an album while fighting through dark depression

When Gar headlines Coachella again but this time she has more time to plan her performance :WAP:

Chromatica is a very good album. It has great lyrics, a coherent concept, innovative message for pop music all throughout, it is mostly inspired by 90s beats, but it also uses 80s 70s and early 2000s sounds. What stops it from being great? Intentionally depriving the album of "low tempo" songs, or ballads for that matter, make it feel a bit sonically monotone. Born This Way, in a way, also suffers from this, but BTW's highs are higher than Chromatica's highs. And the other thing is it's a pop album, and even though it has some really good songs, great catchy pop hooks are missing a bit.

From a side can't believe she filmed her third movie already but from the other I'm not realizing we have still to wait one year and half, ugh.

Well, more or less ASIB timing at this point.

We need LG7 now.

Only in this ATRL base and pockets of stan twitter's most delusional users is Chromatica considered "bad" or "underwhelming."

Did y'all suddenly forget the absolute critical acclaim it received? :rip: Did y'all forget the public loved the album just because she didn't continue the era for your personal viewing pleasure? :rip:

Who is using Joanne of all records against Chromatica? :rip:

But yea, sometimes albums just suck so your hypothesis isn't crazy-talk. It's hopeful to think that Gaga might actually make another remarkable record in the future. Until then we'll be streaming BTW.

LG7 - R&B/Soul

Producers: Gaga, Dylan Wiggins, Rob Bisel, Darkchild, Carter Lang, Tyler The Creator, Mark Ronson.

No one forgot anything or cares about the critical acclaim. Nor does the initial reaction to the record/its promotion matter. The fact is it's a LAZY album from Lady Gaga. No one is saying it is a bad record.

Not like this hasn't been discussed but seems like people forget: Gaga herself admitted that Bloodpop was the reason she didn't lie in bed depressed all day and that she had to smoke 20 cigarettes per day to get through recording. Does that sound like a record an artist put their all in?

Kinda don't care about that one, but sure :hippo:

not people using critics... especially at a time now where pop albums are all getting good reviews even if they are subpar

sorry but Rare by Selena Gomez literally got a 76/100 on MC and yet it was mid...

I think Chroma lacked something but lyrically, it was good and some of the production was great

vocal production tho was AMAZING all over the record

also Fun Tonight is about Carino, Plastic Doll kinda is too..

Plastic Doll is one of chromatica’s best I don’t care… the big chorus >>>> and the production is so crisp. Plastic Doll I actually listened to twice on the first listen - the only song, because it finally gave me that clear cut anthem chorus hihi

this is so good to drive too

The visuals here slayed:

I’m a fan of some ‘Aphex Twin’ songs so plastic doll really serves that for me. And the lyrics obviously give gay relationship tea - hihi !

Chromatica's songs could have been longer and had more involved but it's a stretch to call the record lazy with opuses like Enigma and Babylon. It has some of her best songwriting to date.

Enigma came from the clown Vegas show and Babylon made her feel like a genius because she rhymed Babylon with babble on and proceeded to make a lyric "serve it, ancient city style". Y'know, because Babylon the place is an ancient city. Genius.

Her most iconic songs have literal jibberish as hooks and 'Bad Romance' uses basic, elementary Hitchcock references.

With this mindset, you can tear down any of her work. :rip:

Nope sorry, they're both serves musically and lyrically. But you also probably think Artpop was ahead of its time or something.
