This shoot is phenomenal :jonnycat:

Intentionally referencing TFM's standard cover with the the black feathers and gothic mug because Total Mayhem is coming and that's unironically amazing :jonnycat:

WHEN DID THIS ***** GET THE TIME TO SHOOT SUCH A SICKENING PHOTOSHOOT??? HELLOO?? WAS THIS IN THE VAULTS?? CUZ WE GOT NO PHOTOSHOOTS THIS ERA AND NOW WE'RE GETTING PROBABLY ONE OF HER BEST PHOTOSHOOTS?? WE FINALLY GOT TO RECEIVE OHH GODGAA :jonny5:

This interview is very revealing, I have to read it when I'm free. i'm glad she is in a healthy head space to talk about these things, she used to shut these down inside her, but now she feels secure enough to talk about them. Good for her!

The interview is so articulate, this is first time in longest time she has opened up so much. I could make the bulletin point for you guys. Give me sometimes.

Okay I am not exaggerating when I say this is THE BEST PHOTO she took since like 2012:

IMG-1320.jpg

This photoshoot is her best since BTW album photoshoot.

Also apparently Gaga used some texts Michael shared with her talking about the songs she made and ended up crediting him, even Michael is surprised she did that.

So I don't want to see any more posts about how Michael is controlling her or taking too much credit from her.

Obsessed with the finger prosthetics. Literally giving us Born This Way in 2025. :jonnykin:

I will post it here, it is quite long

Spoiler
  • The Artpop era marked her first major backlash, worsening her already fragile mental state. Past trauma from a producer raping her at 19 resurfaced during this period.
  • She escaped into detours: jazz albums with Tony Bennett, acting roles, the A Star Is Born soundtrack, Joanne, and Chromatica.
  • She reveals she filmed A Star Is Born while on lithium, and a psychotic break during the Joanne tour, eventually canceling it and seeking psychiatric care.
  • Michael Polansky helped her rediscover who she was beyond the Gaga persona - has always called her Stefani, grounding her and helping her feel genuinely loved.
  • She now considers herself a healthy, whole person after significant healing.
  • After releasing Mayhem, an album created from months of rediscovery, is now up for seven Grammys.
  • The Mayhem Ball tour is her biggest spectacle yet, featuring multiple "Gagas" representing different sides of herself. She often panics through the first song but finds her footing once choreography kicks in. She sees Gaga and Stefani not as separate identities but as parts of one integrated self. Polansky sometimes catches her breathing hard.

  • She reworked "Shallow" for the tour with a Phantom of the Opera-style staging and a new darker electronic arrangement. She happened to remember that Mark Ronson, one of its co-writers, created an electronic drum loop that didn't make the final recording — after she texted him, he dug it back up and sent it to her.

  • There are portion about the Tour ideas, which you guys can read, nothing interesting to note down.

  • While making Mayhem, she had dreams of different versions of herself - ideas that translated into songs like "Perfect Celebrity" and "Disease."

  • She's had visions of an "evil inside" since at least 2011, describing dreamlike internal exorcisms.

  • The "Disease" video was a dark confrontation with her inner self, inspired partly by backlash to Joker: Folie á Deux. Filming the "Disease" video sent her into another brief dark mental space.

  • Moved away from pop expectations by pursuing jazz, acting, and artistic detours to regain control.

  • She started writing for Mayhem in 2023, with "Vanish Into You", with producer Andrew Watt. They met in another studio a few months earlier, when Watt was working on the Rolling Stones' Grammy-winning Hackney Diamonds.

  • Gaga and Polansky stayed in touch with Watt, and brought him in when she felt ready to begin recording her own album — the trio ended up executive-producing it together. Watt suggested adding the producer/drum programmer Cirkut to the process, and they all began a year of close collaboration.

  • That was the first time where Gaga finally steered back into the center of her artistic lane, after years of productive detours that she traces directly to the Artpop aftermath.

  • Acknowledged she often centers her art around painful experiences as a way to process them. The "Swine" performance controversy at SXSW deeply shaped how people treated her afterwards. Said Artpop's reception made her feel treated like a product rather than an artist. Noted sexism in how her experimentation was judged compared to male artists.

  • Now believed that Mayhem could not have existed without all those detours and experiences.

  • She still loved Chromatica, but now sees it as a sort of half-measure, a transitional moment. Just like Joanne

  • Mayhem came from a healthier, more grounded version of herself, with her artistic instincts restored.

  • Polansky proposed with a blade of grass before upgrading to a large diamond ring. She describes him as the first partner who truly understood the seriousness of her life.

  • Their relationship also changed how her father saw her - he finally stopped worrying.

  • About political difference, she said, "I just try to focus on my relationship with my dad outside of what we don't agree about. As everyone knows, that is hard. We're a family, just like all families."

  • She was in rough shape when she met Polansky, despite promoting herself as "healed" during Chromatica. She smoked three packs of cigarettes, sitting on the porch all day.

  • She had psychiatric nurse during House of Gucci filming, as she was feeling unstable.

  • Polansky saw she felt disempowered and helped her reconnect with her music and purpose. He said, "The piece that I always noticed was how disempowered she felt. Not in charge of her own life. I'd never met somebody so incredibly talented and gifted feel so disempowered." He watched her sit down at the piano to write and start crying.

  • "He wanted to take care of me. And I've never been loved that way. My life was serious to him. It was not a party. He helped me see that my life was precious."

  • "There's a whole bunch of lyrics in the album that I wrote, not intentionally. We were texting each other, and I was like, 'Oh, what about this?'" Polansky says. "And then it ends up in the song." He was surprised to learn she had given him songwriting credits, as were some fans.

  • The Mayhem sessions were long, and often emotionally intense. "There were many times where she would sing a vocal for a song and it would bring me to tears, and then she would also be in tears," says Watt, who credits Polansky with a crucial stabilizing role in the process. "Michael's just so amazing because he's so levelheaded. We could all be so eccentric and excited and jumping up and down and diving into the art. And then he would be like the great leveler. He'd be like, 'Nah, I don't like that song as much as I liked that other song.' He had that all-knowing Buddha-type energy."

  • The two also built a quiet business partnership - she co-founded a skin-health research company with him. She's officially on the board of directors, but they've kept her name out of it, until now.

  • They're planning to marry soon, possibly during tour breaks or just after.

  • Both are preparing for parenthood — Gaga says becoming a mother is what she wants most. And Michael will be beautiful father

  • And lastly, she admitted that she's grown beyond her younger belief that she'd have to be "fully Lady Gaga" forever. (LOL)

Whew. Everything about this interview is making me emotional. Let me play Blade of Grass now.

I'm going to not make pop music the way that you want me to make it. 'Cause you want everything to sound like "Bad Romance," and I'm never doing that again.

i almost cried reading that, especially when the SXSW performance was brought up :WAP: COME THROUGH GRAMMY CAMPAIGN, maybe either TOTAL MAYHEM or the new tour dates will be announced later today.

Kid talk and that she won't be lady gaga fully once she's a mom, LG8 is not coming anytime soon

Her sounding perfectly clear, concise and WISE during the same interview in which she clearly states ARTPOP is her opus and drags Joanne and the other album
