Janet was literally zoom calling in from the car and her stating she had to "straighten a few things out" in her backyard in regards to new music very likely had to do with her Cinq deal and masters being up for auction. I wonder if this means she's left Cinq and found another independent distributor or if she's staying with them after reimbursing them with their funds for the MFN video shoot and Black Diamond studio recording sessions? Well, guess we'll find out whenever she releases new music and see who the label distributor is.

It's been nearly 1 month since the anniversary post for Damita Jo and yet still nothing of a deluxe edition or colored vinyl reissue coming...

 

I bet her "surprise" of celebrating the album will be letting her DJ spin 30 second snippets of random tracks from it on her tour

Janet's life is being detailed into a 22 page comic book and will be released just before her birthday this year. Looks great but I don't think 22 pages would be enough to encapsulate a lot of stories about her life.

I think I've made my peace with never getting another Janet album. I've been perched for Black Diamond for half a decade but it's clearly never coming. I can appreciate her discography for what it is, and Unbreakable is a great final album so at least she went out on a good note.

 

Anyone else trying to hide from spoilers from the tour? 

 

I was supposed to be there for opening night as it's my birthday, but decided not to a few weeks ago. I'll have to wait until July 18 in West Palm Beach! Not sure I can wait that long!

Apparently her issue with Cinq is done. I think a new album is coming next year with a new tour for sure.

I'm not sure if anyone remembers me but I used to post in here a lot. She's still my #1 fav at the end of the day. I get so much joy every time I dive into her discography after a break.

I'm going through my own Janet phase rn. I've wore out TVR, janet. and RN1814, so I'm revisiting AFY and Damita Ho. Some massive bops in those albums.

The 9-track remix EP (a promo-only in the US when originally released) for The Best Things in Life Are Free is now on streaming. There are some beautiful mixes here, particularly CJ's mixes. It's great to have more of her remix catalogue on streaming.

Going through a Janet phase at the moment. It's amazing how she was selling out arenas in Europe during her first tour.  And this was despite RN's singles peaking low compared to Control's.

 

But ATRL will tell you Europeans never heard of her...
