I hope it’s not the Kendrick approach as I feel like his album and hype died about 2 weeks after release. Plus the vibe of his album was more melancholy so I can understand why. Beyoncé has said she wants people to dance and be free, and I’ve been waiting for home girl to display that sentiment outside of an Instagram post. I thought that meant she also would be more free with this era. 
 

It’s Monday and something should be dropped everyday this week to build up excitement. We’ll see what happens.

One of the reasons I'm more optimistic about Bey (even if she does do a bit of a Kendrick) is that there a few key differences:

 

* Kendrick's album is his last for his label TDE. Neither party is really incentivised to go all-out. 

 

* Kendrick dropped his album and went on tour and is all over the festival circuit. The Lemonade drop, if you will.

This time Bey's tour plans are still under wraps and won't factor into this album drop. So she has to make a lot of noise to sustain the buzz heading into a later tour announcement. 

 

Like you said, kinda needing this week to be reveal, reveal, reveal.

Love them but both didn’t drop a single before their album + neither didn’t speak much on they anticipated projects. So nobody knew what direction they were going in musically and artistically – they numbers reflect how people digested it.

 

Bey made it clear Renaissance will be an uptempo, dance pop project. Given that fans wanted a fun side of Bey to return + BMS being the lead, she will perform well.

Kendrick did drop a buzz single and an announcement before the drop. 
 

Drakes was sudden however it’s not the first time he’s done that. Only difference is that he actually called this a studio album.

That drop was expected. It has fallen 2 - 300k every Sunday. 

 

The Spotify update isn’t ideal 

 

It should be doing much better in the US considering it’s the 4th most played song on the radio. I guess the impact of radio is really overstated at times. 

 

The fact she hasn’t done any promo could have something to do with that but we know our fave considers promo to be tacky and beneath her, so it is what it is. 

 

 

I really hope those pose boxes had higher quantity than we think because 10k each isn’t going to cut it. 

 

 

I really would love to know where HDD got that 500-600k projection from. It’s serving delusion considering the best selling artist of the 21st Century could only do 250k more than that despite all the promo and the hype. 

 

 

I’m hoping and a praying but I’m sticking with my 280-300k projection, and that’s if we’re lucky.

It kinda matters that she’s still a dominant commercial force in the industry as it gives her more clout and helps with her touring numbers. There’s nothing wrong with wanting our fave to succeed commercially and I won’t feel guilty for doing so. 

 

That doesn’t mean we are going to stop being fans if she flops. We stuck around after EIL and TG, didn’t we?

I get your point (and I agree even) but y’all are letting the worrying game about how much she’ll sell get in the way of the excitement for new music, and it’s annoying. 
 

Besides, even if she didn’t release a damn thing, she could still more than likely sell out stadiums almost anywhere she wanted

Isn't it funny how angelhive claimed all we wanted when we were "complaining" was success rather than engagement

We would've seen her on the track list on the vinyl. Maybe it samples her because there's no way all the other people listed are features.

 

Also, I kinda think Amazon Italy is scouring fan pages and forums for info because
