So much for all that "act iii was delayed because of The Dream" nonsense y'all have been spewing

The way y'all give Bey so much **** for things other artists do 100x worse

Beyoncé is not Brockhampton. For someone who crafts each album with dissertation-level detail and research, dropping 3 LPs in a calendar year would be doing each one a major disservice

Since the album has been delayed until 2027, let's do what we do best, rank and reminisce about the past Where were you watching opening night of RWT 3 years ago?

Only in the Hive can an album that was never announced or scheduled for a certain date be considered delayed

I hope I wake up to act iii pre-orders the same way I woke up to spinning silver discs when RENAISSANCE was announced

4 years after Bey confirmed to us that we're getting 3 albums (and 2 years since the second album put any possible confusion about that to bed), we're still debating whether the third act of a three-act project is an album... oh Beyhive!

We know this based on the helicopter stage pics from before opening night, right? Or did someone talk about it afterwards

Same, I would love to hear what her and Nicolas Jaar could cook up. I feel like it would be like a mature evolution of the Bey x Boots sound from ST

VMAs 2014 is just as brilliant as 2016. What a fantastically executed medley for such a landmark album. Hair and outfit were also A1 (unlike the black look from 2016)

The way I could write with the exact same reverence about COWBOY CARTER. Oh, Hasbeyn...

To be very honest, this applies to the entirety of RENAISSANCE (sans maybe CHURH GIRL ) She did something pretty unprecedented in the current pop/R&B landscape with that album by taking a genre like Dance, which for many people sounds like a very specific thing, and making it not only universal and far-reaching with its scope, but also incredibly digestible while still being largely experimental and ahead of the curve. There really isn't a single song that doesn't somehow flip the conventions of its established genre on its head, either by introducing anachronistic sonic elements or by completely subverting what one would expect from its lyrics/melodies. There's the fusion of rap/gospel/soul on an electronic club banger like BMS, or the experimental rap-singing strewn across the more traditional dance backdrop of ITG, or the literal mish-mash of cunty ballroom with 70s glam disco in PURE/HONEY. Bey first used the phrase sonic cinema in reference to The Gift, but I don't think there's ever been an album more aptly described as such than RENAISSANCE. Visuals or no, that record front to back is a relentless f*cking experience. I still would like those visuals, though.

I think YA YA is so quintessentially Beyoncé, like it's a song she was genuinely destined to create one day, given that Tina's her idol (another reason act iii is going to be her greatest album). And I can't imagine a world without it, especially after how electrifying it was at BeyBowl and CCT. However, that first listen of AHAP in 2022 (and honestly, every subsequent listen since) was an out-of-body experience. Sonically, lyrically, thematically, vocally, it was just so out of left field for her, and I still marvel every time I hear it. I feel similarly about PURE/HONEY
