Since Renaissance is a celebration of black artists who paved the way, it makes sense this is an album that doesn’t feature A list collabs. Renaissance is obv a period in the past and I think she’ll do her modern twist on it. So I’m guessing the next albums will celebrate the new up and coming artists like ChloexHalle to represent the future of black culture and music?

I know this award is a joke but the point is, she has cemented herself in history with the likes of Whitney and Lauryn. And on top of that she won an award for a genre that completely ridiculed and ex

Okay, I'm gonna need them to quit sending texts unless they got something to say :lmao:

Yeah to be honest I'm very happy about the fact that there's not many features and there's no currently big artists there. She terrorized us enough with them remixes in the last couple of years they're all terrible.

Still holding on to that Kacey Musgraves collab for the future acts tho :jonny5:

One more week until this collapse, it’s my last day with my current job so you know I had to use up my PTO to get off early

good luck with them getting any productivity outta me for the last 5 hours there

I'm craving for new performances. I wanna hear her voice again live, especially on Break My Soul, a song that could potentially translate into a spectacular vocal moment.

She hits a brief Eb5 on the track (and goes down to B2 :jonny2:) but I believe she can break free and unleash all her powerful vocals to the point of reaching (several) F5s/F#5s.

This time however to symbolize us touching our hair/wigs gently before Ms Puta decides to scalp us once again, leaving us bald for years to come and eventually smashing our heads to the ground when act 2 and act 3 are revealed which eventually result in our brains to be exposed. Shes then gonna give them away for donation and leave us bald, skulless and dumb in the dirt.

It’s a very fitting securing of the wig before the eventually mass scalping next Friday. I can’t imagine how shook everyone will be if the BMS video actually drops between now and then

I don't see BMS as impersonal.

I think Break My Soul was very personal in many ways. Especially with all the **it she got during BIK and the sh** she has been getting unfairly even for little stuff like wearing a purse. Add to that chaos in our politics and covid (across the globe)- she's an artist and artists feel things a lot. I do feel she had to re-find her motivation for moving forward. Even the "bey is back and I'm sleeping real good at night" I read as her talking about finding her grounding again and being able to sleep better - remember she talked about her insomnia in harpers bazaar interview - she talked feeling overworked and stressed (especially with family duties too).

I personally think that since IASF and 4, bey has found meaning in making music that comes from her heart and experience. That complete honesty and heart, while framing it as universal themes for everyone to relate to, is what has been elevating her projects to new heights. It's when it's honest and it tells her story and legacy and relates to and impacts people and the culture. Of course as queen of anthems it is often tweaked to be even more relatable and general for the public. And I think this song fit the bill perfectly for being both. From her heart and feelings and for everyone to relate to and feel inspired by.

Holy sh** this is so much better than the album version. :allears:

Why is she so persistent about this new number.  You told us last night sis.  Ya'll think something else is coming?

Pure/Honey is going to be the dark horse. I feel it in my Spirit.mp3
