She should do Micro-Bang Mullet with the red hair. She needs to look less polished for a ROCK album. Imagine a combo of these two… the below mullet is too clean. It needs to be spike out

How would you restart the Cowboy Carter era?

Release Bodyguard as the first single and only single in February during the Super Bowl alongside that lil Instagram music video.

In March release Ya Ya

On album release date push Texas and 16 Carriages as singles and do a lil Instagram sob story post about what 16 carriages means for the slow folks. Spam Texas Hold Em with every Instagram post while it's going viral. Annoy the **** out of everyone with it so it stays #1

A month after release do Levi Jeans campaign with Post and push that as the next single.

Then Grammys time perform II Least Streamed with Miley.

yup yup

Iono about all of that.

The era launch was fine in terms of the Super Bowl ad, double singles etc. It's the nothing that came after that has been something. And even then, it's clear they were about to do a residency at The Sphere. I'm not Kiss Ass Hive, but I give a little grace in that something as big as that falling through probably required a rather chaotic regrouping behind the scenes. Hence, a tour almost a year and a half later lol.

Only change I'd make is to switch Texas out for Bodyguard. It's such an incredible song and is evocative of exactly what "Beyonce doing Country" ought to sound like.

The only counter that supports them going with Texas is that I feel like the random, almost cartoonish sound of the song almost makes one sit up and process in a way that makes it stick out more. For better or for worse, it polarizes and generates strong emotion (people either love or hate it), and that is what many big GP hits are made of.

By contrast, Bodyguard sounds like a really, really, really good peak-era Shania Twain song and that may not pack enough urgency or quirk to make it stick out in a way comparable to Texas.

But as a pure song vs song, I think Bodyguard could have been one of Bey's biggest hits. Even if getting the second single/Cuff It treatment.

Alas, here we are.

depends on ur music taste/mood. what do u like?

I'm a big Gaga and Lana fan. I enjoyed Beyoncé and Lemonade back in the day, so maybe I'll start there

Assuming you have heard all the albums before lemonade

Start with Renaissance -> Cowboy carters -> The Gift -> Eveything is love

I think I've only listened to Beyoncé and Lemonade in full and Cowboy once.

Got some listening to do

i would suggest bday (different flavor of bops) or sasha fierce (ballads w some bops). cowboy carter fits too if u vibed w gaga & lana's country phase lol.

Yeah I listened to Cowboy Carter once and liked it, and I usually don't like things on first listen.

There's so much music haha

CC era was off to a great start.

my issue was after the album drop. she coulda did a lil more country theme promo thats cute and minimal like tinydesk. did more w the ii hands challenge. had more singles since we in a peak country music phase. mb did more w the CC truck in asia too.

sir davis and levis jeans ads were smart and coordinated well with country aesthetic.

She'd look incredible with a ginger hue like this. Don't know if I'm mentally prepared tbh :jonny2:

I would love this hair color for act iii. and i think its likely after seeing her with it for some of the tour backdrops and the dancers having it

It's such a waste not having Bodyguard be a single and giving it the stage it deserves. Lead single treatment would have been sufficient. Texas Hold Em is good but that's it. Bodyguard or even Tyrant as the lead would have drawn a lot more eyes to the album.

Not that it'll make or break Bey's legendary career but Bodyguard belongs right next to CIL, Halo and Irreplaceable as her elite career classics. It's that serious.

The fact that she moved two hours closer to my time zone (EST) and still won't come on until 11pm is :rip: Damn Chicago weather.

I dont see how the era would have been any better without Texas as lead. Bodyguard isn't country enough for it to have been the lead and the way Texas smashed out the gate was truly amazing. Her momentum from Feb 24- April 24 was truly off ths charts. It was getting too cockly and not capitlizing on all that is where she messed up.

Bodyguard should have pushed as a 2nd single in April with some type of promo

That CR Fashion book shoot is the only thing that has me worried about the aesthetics for act iii

It might be her worst photoshoot…ever :jonny2:

Having "YA YA" as the lead single is the only answer. But here lies a few key issues, driven by Mrs. Carter:

• Leading with "YA YA" (tacking on "Oh, Louisiana" fading out, as the Single Version) would've been an even better contrast to "16 CARRIAGES" than "TEXAS HOLD'EM". It would've easier for the masses to digest, because it's a specific sound she's explored before. However, it would've flatlined, probably even quicker than THE because the song BEGS to be performed live and there's only so many times you could a song so forceful, hard driving and guitar & bass heavy on the radio before it becomes too much. A live performance would've struck continued interest, but she wasn't going to budge!

• "TEXAS HOLD'EM" is cheesy, corny as fxck, too commercial for the Beyoncé that's currently out. Sis hasn't played into 'what fits on radio' sis "LEMONADE", and that was simply because there were 2 obvious fan favorites. THE ushered in a new wave of Black Country music that was inescapable. it was needed to start a resurgence to discover new artist and sounds.

• "YA YA" would prematurely clashed with the sounds of Act III, if the act is curved out to be the rock n' roll album it's rumored to be. The song straddles the line of a few genres and it's hard to tie it down to just country for a lead single to accompany a country album.

THE SONG WAS NOT PRINTED ON THE PREMATURELY PRINTED VYNIL BEFORE THE ALBUM WAS FINSHED

How the ever, it's still my choice to set off the album release, especially after such a huge commercial!

The start of the era was great. Texas was a hit in lots of countries.

Bodyguard should've been the follow up, with a video and some performances.

Ya Ya wouldn't smash

beautiful gowns!

I actually think Texas was the perfect 1st single and it's performance proved it.

I do think we should've received another single the week before the album dropped - either 16C if she wasn't doing a duel release or something like Tyrant to please and fool the urban crowd who were never going to listen to a country album.

This reaction convinced me that urban radio would've ate Tyrant up. Tyrant should've dropped with the "this isn't a country album, it's a Beyonce album" post.

Ya Ya as the lead single and have the first segment of the CCT as the Beybowl performance.

Levi's Jeans as the second single. That's it.

@giRLbye. why isn't the sis having proper acoustic performances with good ass arrangements like Daddy Lessons and All Night during the Lemonade era? Wasn't she supposed to demonstrate the "been country" thing? The majority of the CC tracks are a big letdown on this tour. I need answers.

I don't think timing was the issue since she had an entire year to plan the tour.

I agree with Bodyguard or Tyrant as the lead and Levi's (with a push) as the second single.

Ya Ya is in my top 3 but I would have to agree with this. Texas was the perfect lead, Bodyguard should've been the follow up in late spring and then perhaps Tyrant for the summer. But oh well
