I don't know why ppl care about streams period especially Spotify when it has been proved time and time again that it can be easily manipulated, from bots, to algorithm  to playlisting. Most of it is not organic.

Also why is this site obsessed with Beyonce's streaming numbers when she's literally a 40 something year old black woman? Like who else in her generation or demographic is even close.

I feel like they do it to serve as a "gotcha" moment when it comes to Beyonce. I see it on twitter too. A lot it of ppl want to use her streams as a gotcha moment because stans know that Beyonce is the standard. She's an all-rounder so they use streams as a way to make them feel better about their faves. They need to find a way to discredit her so they can make her seem "irrelevant."

I do think streaming stats do tell us something about how the music is being received, no?

Who by Jimin has been in the global Top20 for more than half a year. How well do u know it?

DWAS has been pulling 10+Mio streams for more than 3-4 consecutive months.

Do you consider these things normal?Lol

These feats are achieved through bots, algorithms, playlisting, ads, streaming farms

you're acting like she tours with them every year, we have plenty of solo beyonce tours... destiny's child havent gone on tour in 20 years

Sis, I really don't know what to tell you, I am not a DC's stan, I am a Bey's stan, the fact that they haven't gone on tour in 20 years is not something that bothers me at all, quite the contrary because it gives me exclusively Beyoncé's solo tours. Same with Jay.

Because that's the only thing stans and people who are pressed about her success can use against Bey lmao.

They just can't get over the fact that she is still relevant and didn't get left behind in previous eras like a lot of other acts from her generation did.

then don't go if it ever happens sis, but people saying it's "limiting her art!" is wild, not everything needs to be a serious art project.. this would just be FUN for fans

we have two major solo tours back to back, we can afford to have a short run of DC dates

B should focus on building her solo legacy.

A limited joint stadium tour with Kendrick would be fab tho :gaynetcat4:

Unfortunately, at this stage in her career, Kelly and Michelle are not bringing anything creatively or sonically to the table.

If the got back together for a full era, it would be Beyoncé comprising on both fronts and servicing nostalgia.

We're fighting Beyoncé's transition into a legacy act. Reviving DC3 would accelerate that process.

Do we think the CC tour will break any venue records that Renaissance didn't??

  • ATRL Moderator

she already broke a record for doing the most back to back shows in atlanta & jersey.

The stage seems to be bigger compared to RWT, so unless they're selling more "restricted view" tickets, personal attendance records might be harder to achieve.

True but they got rid of the VIP risers which basically took up the back of the floor, it was worse in long venues like Paris. It shouldn't be a problem this time

Right!

It's important for Bey to routinely rest her solo brand and DC is probably the next biggest and most exciting/familiar/buzz-worthy tool she has in her arsenal. By a long shot.

IMO, Bey is at a stage where she will actually benefit from making her solo albums fewer and further between to "eventize" them as she essentially winds down (quick lil singles, collabs etc can sufficiently feed her streaming in the gaps).

At the same time, none of us want her to go Rihanna on us (aka go full-on Avon Lady) and I don't even think she can.

Probably to her own annoyance (at this stage), Bey is most buzzed-about for her music and live performances. Not her extra-curricular activity (though Cecred shows promise), not acting, not her brand deals. People want to "experience" Beyonce's musical legacy. A DC tour is an easy way to do that while building buzz for her next solo project.

IMO, I feel like the DC divide in the Hive is between those who always saw DC as a "Beyonce and the girls" venture and those who felt they were a supergroup. I always belonged to the latter. Kelly and Michelle may not give the ferocity of Bey nor the consistency, but the magic when they plug-in together is a magic that is undeniable.

While they are all still giving fierce, I'd take that any day over another Jay project, a so-so selling side project, or the launch of another non-musical venture that none of us really asked for lol.

I can't believe how little faith you guys have that Beyoncé wouldnt be able to make a DC tour "artistically" up to par...

Also what is the obsession with preserving her artistic vision, why can't she just want to tour with her best friends just because? Let Beyoncé have FUN, and DC songs are too good to just let it rot away just so she can preserve "artistic integrity"

Also if they ever do a tour together I better not see any of you sign up for the presale

Like!

Some of the Hive are pretending like sis didn't go on TWO OTR tours for the sake of it while between album cycles (largely to help Jay tick-box his commitments to Live Nation). That second was especially jarring as it so brazenly went against the grain of what fans wanted post-BeyChella, but sis really said: IDGAF, y'all are gonna come anyway.

Maybe it's just the way my mind is wired, but much as I stan Bey, I always apply my marketing/brand hat to ish...even to even her. And, from a pure product lifecycle standpoint, she legit already benefits from periodic pauses to her "main" Beyonce activity.

Pretending like she's always in this uber-serious, laser-focussed, meticulous mode is to overlook the reality that we stan a capitalist Queen who will jump on a well-aligned tour if there's a bag to be made. It doesn't get more well-aligned than DC.

At this stage of their lives touring together is more hassle than anything - they all have families & young kids and coordinating their schedules in this way would be tougher than doing their own thing.

That being said, I would go to the tour if there was one. I never got the chance to see them live so will be a dream come true for sure.

Talking about DC, I recently stumbled upon this - is Mathew really that broke? :ryan3:

the truth is Bey's perfectionist ass is NOT going to have fun with Michelle's thin shaky vocals :dies: it'll be torturous for her.

I didn't say it wouldn't be good. It would be great. I love DC and DC3. But I think it would stunt Beyoncé's evolution. She would have to return to familiar sounds. It would be servicing a niche fan base and the GP would see it as a reunion/farewell era. These are all hallmarks of a legacy act.

I want Beyoncé to continue to push herself and extend her legacy as the most creatively ambitious pop star of all time.

It's not really streaming that haters keep dragging, it's just Spotify. You can at other platforms and Bey is just as prominent if not stronger on there than people who are Spotify giants. Ironically she performs better on streaming services that don't have a reputation of botting and autoplay and algorithm shoving, which is funny.
