Whitney Houston's estate released a Gospel album in 2023 of Whitney Houston's unreleased studio recordings at 14-18 right before her 1983 solo Arista records deal, and as SOON as I heard this record I thought a cover/interpolation of this would've been the perfect way to transition from the 90s vocal-heavy dance music of "Break My Soul" to the Clark Sisters-sampling "Church Girl" by using the quintessential Church Girl - turned - Pop vocalist herself. That was the only transition I didn't generally like on Renny. Thoughts?

Or, we can simply be realistic. The general public are not concerned with double act or trilogy act in the streaming era. That's not a slight to this current conundrum project, but reality. The GP is not concerned with the ins & outs of a three act project, they're not staying tuned for 6-8 years for a well explained conclusion or music videos. Before "BEYONCÉ BOWL" and the tour announcement, the GP were already done with this current era because there was nothing going on for MONTHS! I'm sure Bey will have her Instagram video explaining why she birth the trilogy era in the end, they'll watch and still won't exactly care.
 

Eras are for die hard fan bases. WE are enthralled in the trilogy, mainly because most artist don't even make it to their Volume 2, let alone Act III. WE are on the edge of our seats to get insider leaks and waiting for what's next. WE will be reminded of this era in time, when Bey took such a gamble and it paid off. . . years later, but still. The general public will move on after the tour, until she's ready to put out Act III.

So I listened to Gagas album after reading the reaction in the Mayham thread expecting something ... good? Mind you I really enjoyed Abracadabra. Im at Killah now and how can I put it without sounding mean.. its giving Twilight Soundtrack. Thats what I have to think of constantly. Jennie's Ruby Album is infinitely better, which is a shocker to me

 

ppl know a trilogy exist but i wish she put in more effort to make it a moment/career highlight.

The long-lasting success/impact of the Trilogy will depend on the packaging and roll out of Act 3. The way this has been managed so far has been TERRIBLE. However, the aoty win and the blockbuster world tours will be remembered. My biggest worry is how she rounds up the Trilogy in a way that makes sense for us fans? I feel like visuals of any kind will make minimal impact at this point. Also, Act 2 and Act 1 probably won't be charting by the time she rolls out Act 3. Which won't be a good look. I honestly thought she wanted the Trilogy to be looked at as her magnum opus but the way it's being handled does not inspire confidence that it will be viewed that way by the general public. And ultimately Bey's biggest issue is her aversion to a good singles roll out. The fact that she did Beyonce bowl 9 months later with no single on the radio, and next month she's going on tour for an album that has no presence on the Hot 100...whoever lied to her and convinced her singles aren't necessary ****** things up for us fr. Whatever boost she gets from touring will be temporary and fleeting and CC era will be over as soon as the tour ends...until Act 3. Rinse and repeat.LMFAO

because, the reality is, they never did! you think people cared about "Disappear" off of Sasha Fierce? do you think anyone bought that album because of it? 

 

she wants to make "albums" a thing and I commend her for it. most people do not listen to full albums unless they're a fan of you.

The thing with this base is people are either too harsh on Beyoncé or kiss her behind too much, it's almost nauseating at times. The middle-ground takes are rare lol. 

 

The trilogy will be remembered imo, it could have been something legendary in the proportion of The Dark Side of The Moon/The Wall or Thriller-like in terms of impact but way more success is necessary for that, still it will be remembered as a great musical offering and excellent tours to boot. People who follow music are also aware of it, before the release of CC, one of my friends talked to me about it. 

 

At least she somehow makes an effort to have a lead single and give it some room to grow before abandoning every thing. It at least signals to people and make them aware a new era or part of the trilogy is debuting, since it's the only time she does anything at all outside of the tours.  Still pushing other singles would have done so good for those albums in the long term. People listening to a song like Virgo or Plastic Off The Sofa all the time (radio or Spotify) when they've heard BMS/Heated or CI before gives depth to her work. She succeeded a bit with CC because I might be delusional but I think THE, 16C and Yaya might be a bit known. And the tour might (a big might) add to that Daughter, Bodyguard and American Requiem hopefully. 

 

I agree that however she choses to wrap up the trilogy will be a defining factor to how it transcends generations.

She clearly had tons of ideas and a strong message to say when creating this. Act III is the last chance to execute them and hopefully she does follow up. There must be a huge bow to tie all this, then again it can easily be wishful thinking as a Stan and she'll simply let the "work speak for itself" which is annoying and her easy out for anything. 
 

The tour is coming so there's that to look forward to at least, hopefully she follows up Act III as soon as she did CC once the RWT ended.

No one ever said Telephone pt. 2 includes Bey. Gaga might just refer to the storyline presented in Telephone which could continue on its own

Exactly. If that ever happens, it will 100% be a solo thing. I don't see Beyoncé doing that anymore. 

 

Speaking of, I saw the video of her talking about it on twitter. She was doing some sort of live q&a for her album, imagine if Beyoncé did something like that after all this 3 acts no visuals yada yada nonsense  people would be so unhinged

i think whatever Telephone Pt 2 is about will come from Gaga and on HER project...not Beyonce.
