We also have a history of news reports from before even Renaissance dropped that the three genres would be Dance, Country and Rock.

Combine this with the fact that Tina is literally her goat, and the fact that Rock perfectly lines up with the other two genres as black-founded white-adopted art spaces, and it's clear that this will be the direction. 

 

There's a lot more to rock that she could and should explore in Act III. 

 

I also think Ya Ya was added to Cowboy to further ensure all three acts tie in together with eachother. Renaissance talks a lot about rodeo culture. CC's final third is effectively a country renaissance mini album. And Ya Ya hints at further rock exploration.

 

Ya Ya is the most rock 'n' roll we get in the CC tracklist, but sounds nothing like Don't Hurt Yourself, River Deep, I Love Rock n Roll, Sweet Home Alabama, Whole Lotta Love, School's Out, Don't Stop Believin, I Can't Get No Satisfaction, Starman, Gimme Shelter, Rebel Rebel or Born to be Wild.

 

There's SO much to Rock n Roll and she's gonna EAT

Other than YA YA, "American Requiiem" is VERY rock, "Bodyguard" is Fleetwood Mac / Carly Simon "yacht rock", and 16 Carriages is "Arena Rock" mixed with country. She might actually be done with rock now that you mention it. Big picture? Between her Grammy nomination for "Don't Hurt Yourself" in the rock categories with Jack White, Jack White comparing her voice to a second coming of Betty Davis and Aretha Franklin, Kings Of Leon loving her version of their song, and the way UK rock purists/critics were BOWLED OVER (and mentioned as such publicly) with The Beautiful Ones / Sex On Fire from Glastonbury showed that the genre ultimately had no real problem welcoming her with THOSE vocals.

I'm leaning towards Jazz / Soul / Blues / Gospel too.

Many remember that Jazz/Soul/Blues was the direction Self-Titled began as (an album paying homage in part to "doowop, Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin" - "Superpower" was the only survivor, I have a hunch "Love On The Brain" started here, and "Wake Up" went to Ariana Grande), but ultimately meeting Boots and Chairlift sent things in an avant-garde, darker direction.

Leon Bridges talking about being there for the creation of Beyonce's vinyls was just too strange for him not to be involved in any of the trilogy albums.

My money is currently on Leon Bridges, Snoh Aalegra. and Samara Joy joining her gumbo for this next project.

This is lyrically one of her best songs pre-Lemonade. The production is a little dated though and I can't help think of the Direct TV commercial that used this track. I'd argue that commercial is the reason it out-streamed Deja Vu (and Ring The Alarm)… I remember always seeing it. 

Hive are we aligning with the Katycats this week? They need help and I stand with Katy. Shes the ONLY "main" pop girl that has consistently shown love to Beyonce. She has never thrown shade her way, she's attended Formation and Renaissance and stanned hard on her socials, she stood up and stanned her entire 2014 VMAs performance, she went to Coachella performance. Even when she was outselling Beyonce she was humble and knows her place.

A magazine that Beyoncé did a photo shoot for (I want to say Vogue Italia?) made a comment in an article about a 3 act project featuring house, country, and rock genres. They immediately took that part of the article out within about an hour of posting.

 She did feature Snoh in the Ivy Park ad and they're both Virgos. I'd die if they did something that was reminiscent of 'ugh, those feels again.'

Why not? It would be very New Orleans of her and she loves big band, horns, and scatting/mimicking instruments. Creoles from in LA also helped create jazz. Texas Hold Em was a surprise global hit/ number 1 song for Beyonce with zero promo -not even a video and it was a freakin country song to go number 1 in freaking UK and no noms? It's not about it being Beyonce. It's just the principle. If it were a Taylor song, it would've gotten noms.

Daughter is about her literally beating a ***** down for Jay, this is very likely related to The Met Gala moment.

Riverdance is about a lover's affair and her coming to terms with wanting him regardless of his indiscretions.

II Hands II Heaven continue this notion, describing the love as timeless and forever, forgiving all past actions.

Tyrant settles in as she is finally able to stop being mad and think about what the other "vices" offer him so she can steal it and use it to her advantage.

 

Would quote the exact lyrics sections if you want, the highs on this album are insane.

I actually think I know why I can't see it. It's because she's more aggressive and melancholy and not lovey dovey as the typical love songs I'm used to from her (Flamenco, Just for Fun, Alligator Tears). She's painting a  revenge fantasy on this album which is so satisfying to anyone that's gone through getting cheated. To me, I kinda sense that she is playing  the villain here on some songs interestingly like Riiverdance, and it seems she calls herself a Tyrant just like others. I'm still trying to decide all the lyrics on this and what she's trying to convey. It's so emotionally heavy. I pick up on new things each full listen. One of the things I sense is this album is just as  political as Lemonade and definitely fits as it's follow up more than Renee does. There is also the most shade here from Beyonce I've ever seen. Alligator Tears, Jolene, Daughter, Sweet honey buckiin, Tyrant, Ya Ya, Am.Requiem.

 

My favorite is still II  Hands II Heaven. It's like the moment when you're drunk and the  fantasy fades and reality starts slowly crashing in and hitting hard, then it turns to a profession of love. Very interesting song

I'm sure Beyincé got closer to being released than we think. That's how Variety got their knowledge about country and Ryan Tedder, and Amazon Italy probably only changed the name of the album in the description without knowing who the producers were. Which once again mean nobody got to know nothing without Beyoncé letting them know. 

YA YA is really a fantastic song and a career highlight.

Similarly American Requiem is fantastic but YA YA? It's the definite jewel of Cowboy Carter.
