Wishful thinking but maybe the intention was always for the film to come all at once with or after the album and not be dissected and she's now decided to give BMS a standalone visual. This would be my ideal scenario because I now kinda expect a film but also want standalone visuals for the singles. Imagine the serve if it's a fully fledged film that incorporates some of the music but we also get traditional style videos on the side.

I dont know but maybe something happened that didn't allow them to really film the video the way they wanted it, i mean it happens. Cardi B recently did a IG live where she talked about her own music video for her new single not being ready because of having to do some heavy editing because they had to add in special effects and stuff. Beyoncé wont release that video until it's exactly how she wants it.

Sweetie I’m not posting anything that’s going to get anyone fired. I have no reason to lie.

But it definitely explains why there was no video at the single release. She could have literally just filmed it.

Not to jump the gun, but as long as Renaissance gets good reviews (which I'm near sure of considering the leniency of music critics today), I'm sure Bey gets in across the board for Grammy noms. BMS getting ROTY, SOTY, Pop Solo and Music Video (:chick1:) noms is very plausible at this point, especially if Black Parade could be that adored and Spirit/The Gift got Pop noms.

Big Grown Woman vibes

i think the BMS video is done though. My thoughts are either a.) it’s a part of a full body of visual work she will unveil until the album release. Or b.) she isn’t going to release til next week or the week after to sustain momentum for the single/album.

I’ve been saying for a while it’s beyond clear the video wasn’t done, simply based on the timeline of the song being finished and approved by Freedia only 4 days before it was released.

No way they had time to film and do post on the video in 4 days. Especially if it’s a big major video which it will be

Yeah, we're getting the video release week, fun.

At least the song if holding up really well, it's Top 10/20 basically everywhere, and the cover reveal gave it a boost. A true testament to Beyoncé's staying power. Fun.

That's what some dont seem to understand. They seem so convinced everything about the era is planned and done with but i dont believe so. I believe Break my Soul was a last minute song added in, and it was probably finished very recently. She released it for a specific reason only Bey knows at this point and i dont think the music video was done at all.

It's actually funny to think that when Beyoncé scored her first hit with Destiny's Child, she was sharing the Top 10 with Usher's Nice & Slow, Celine Dion's My Heart Will Go On and Savage Garden's Truly, Madly, Deeply. The #1 album in the US was the Titanic ST at the time too. And she'll be going Top 10 next week with songs by artists like Harry Styles and Bad Bunny, who were 3 when No, No, No dropped, and Jack Harlow who was born when the song was peaking. She's OLD OLD y'all :deadbanana2:

Releasing the album cover with that caption on her IG was very well played tbh.  It brings it back to what she has always said, she wants the focus to be on her music, her art and right now it's good to see people are just waiting to do just that- enjoying her work and excited for what's to come. The change of tone in the music to a more positive sound was overdue, she needs to keep her music positive and global for a while and her staying power will not be threatened tbh.

her longevity is unmatched. i don't think anyone since mariah has had SUCH lasting presence in the scene

Regarding the discussion surrounding her shooting sth:

Lets not forget how it also takes time to shoot the Videos for the tour as well. For all we know she might be shooting that, or the MV for Single #2, or still parts for a movie, etc..

Like there are a lot of options other than her still shooting the MV for BMS (in case sth is even planned for BMS)

Going back listening to all her albums and Haunted is hitting the feels again! I hope we get something like that again.

OTR was edited and on HBO within a week, right? With effects and everything. And that was like 84 years ago. A teeny tiny music video shouldn’t take longer than a 2.5 hour concert film. Didn’t she say she was FREED from perfectionism this era? Lies and deceit, she’s just as OCD as ever.

Entering her Auntie phase. :nicole:

If a video is coming, it was done before the song came out.

they worked for days to release formation before the song came out. Im sure they shot it in advance this time with the notice they had to prepare. It’s not out because 1) they have a plan or 2) she is not doing a video to subvert but expectations

They are always in the Hamptons on 4th of July weekend. Is she not supposed to take breaks with her family? i mean it seems healthy to me.

How many breaks does she need? Six years break wasn't enough?

This is so emotional. I'm sure she went through alot during all those years; I wonder if she remembers anything about her slaying those ringtone sales because its inexistent today.

She survived many hurricane from the Spice Girls to Adele (now even Adele is underperforming).

I just re-watched Year of 4 and the five mini documentaries for ST and lawd am I an emotional wreck rn :cries: it's so astounding to see how far she's come, when I first started stanning her I never would've imagined she'd be around for this long with the same drive she had 15 years ago, now in her 7th era as a solo artist. I could never ride for anyone else like I do her. Her music will always be the soundtrack to my life.

Not just that, but the way this puta evolved. That jump in quality and bravery from DIL to Lemonade and now Renaissance :jonny5:

I can't even begin to watch the ST docs because they're like a time capsule. practically TEN years ago :deadbanana4: the world has changed so much and so has she

It's truly surreal that it's been that long, but I feel like everything she said in regards to music consumption and where she stands at in her life/career still holds true today. Especially the part about her tenacity and awards being meaningless in the grand scheme of things. That said, I really hope we gain some insight into the creation/vision of Renaissance as well through a documentary or something similar. The IG caption was promising.

Not trying to drag Mimi bc I love her and shes one of my faves but I think her case of longevity is v different from Beyoncé's. I will stand by my belief that if Renaissance is a smash era she'll be the female artist with the best longevity ever!

Mariah's mainstream presence as an 'in/cool' artist lasted from 1990-2013 (#Beautiful's radio domination), 23 years. Even then one can argue Obsessed was the last time people were genuinely invested in her as a current artist (2010). I really believe that AIWFCIY shouldn't really count as a proof of Mariah's longevity bc I lowkey feel like that song has a life of its own, its almost like the Christmas National Anthem. Regardless if people know Mariah, they KNOW that song. Bey's case is different (in a good way)

Beyoncé had her first hit in 1998 with No x3, 25 years later she's launching a global Top 5 lead single and getting 500k likes on Twitter for just an album cover reveal. She's not Ariana levels of social media power but the only girls who can pull that level of engagement online for music is Ariana, Taylor and Adele, all artists who've gone mainstream at least a decade after her. Her longevity is that people are still INVESTED in what she has to offer as an artist, both the album and the hits! That kind of longevity is unparalleled its honestly INSANE!

Madonna went from Everybody in 1983 to 4 Minutes in 2008 (25 years)

Mariah went from Vision of Love in 1990 to #Beautiful in 2013 (23 years)

Beyoncé went from No, No, No in 1997 to BREAK MY SOUL in 2022 (25 years)

If Renaissance bags another smash and an even bigger one I have no doubt she'll still be in the game 30 years in!

The likelihood of bey going on tour before spring 2023 is 0 to none.
