I definitely think BMS is the odd ball on the album. But it’s serving a purpose.

 

Something’s up with the beginning of that vogue video. It’s either the intro to the BMS video or another song. Also listen to the sound at the beginning when she presses play, that’s definitely a dance/house sample/sound effect.

BMS the odd ball? Never. BMS is the intrdouction to Beys New sound. It will pretty much rank amongst the most commercial songs on the album

True, however both 4 and Lemonade stayed very true to Beys sound.

 

Renaissance is going to be heavily influenced by House, so I feel BMS serves more as an appetizer for whats to come.

 

Further argument: both Formation and RTW were the albums closer and final Statements whereas BMS is track 6 and thus a centerpiece of the album

One thing is for certain, even if this was the best album of all time, ATRL will clown it at first and say it’s the worst thing they’ve ever heard  It’s usually after a few days that people start giving their real opinions on the song/album, as was the case with BMS. 

 

The obsessed haters are always the first to give their opinion on something or someone they proclaim to dislike

I don’t mean odd ball in a bad way, but in the sense that the sound/vibe is different from most of the other tracks.

yes i am thinking of just staying off ATRL to avoid tarnishing the joy of having a new Beyoncé album. or maybe just stick to base where it will be fun to discuss stuff. it's always great to get all the little bits of info that round out your understanding of the music/lyrics/who worked on what/background info/tea/etc.

Oh yeah, I think it’s definitely a dance album, but the other tracks may explore more disco elements and more sexy/bad b*tch energy.

I dont think so. I really dont think Bey is going to go for a Future Nostalgia type of sound 3 years after Dua was amongst the first to bring this sound back. Bey is going for 80/90 vocal House, UK garage soudn possibly. Think more electronic, less pop-oriented

Dua’s album doesn’t give me disco at all. I mean like true, authentic disco that house music was born from. Sounds like Sylvester’s “Mighty Real”
