Remember when the act i cover came out and everyone (using this loosely) hated it and thought it was missing something and fans on twitter photoshopped any number of needless and obvious things into it to "make it better" like a dance floor or a moon or something.

 

Beyoncé and her legendary team of imager-makers know best, and I don't know why fans feel the need to edit her work in such a way that it cheapens both the intention and the aesthetic.

it's an image that can be disseminated by fans/blogs/the press that also tells the album name, of which none of the other imagery does except for the t-shirt which is clearly meant to be "collagey" not a fully realized photograph.

 

it's also imo, a clear teaser for what the album cover will be. Beyoncé always zigs when we think she'll zag BUT that's what it's giving off to me... it's an empty saddle that she'll soon fill, perhaps with the sash on as well?

I much prefer the alternate cover as well, but I think they intentionally went with the simpler one. 

 

I don't think she really looks like herself in the face on the standard cover, but I guess no one is really zooming in on that. 

I'm losing hope in a zydeco moment on the album. I think it'll mostly be cowboy western and standard country but Beyoncified.  I probably couldn't even tell the difference anyway.

Random thoughts...

 

* I also think the main cover will be her on a horse, with both the saddle and Cowboy Carter sash thing being prominent. If she's looking to shock and awe like the Rennie cover, then maybe her rocking the sash and not much else.

 

* Anyone remember Echoville? I still think this is the name of the film. Or, at the very least a central location in the visual.

 

* Based on the Rennie rollout, anyone estimate when she'll reveal the cover?

This morning while driving to work, I randomly tried to remember what the name was and the first thought was "Cowboy Cassanova"  

Cowboy Carter made immediate sense to me because it sounds like a Billy The Kid esque reference.

 

I can see it becoming a trend to have Cowboy in front of your name soon.

Eh I don’t think her being nude other than the sash would gag people like that, especially because she already showed a lot of skin on the Renaissance cover so it would feel a bit repetitive tbh. I would like to see her fully kitted out in her country clobber.

Agreed, I honestly have a problem with many of the pop girlies/artistes ALWAYS doing nude/scantily clad single arts or album covers when they have so much access to avant-garde fashion......like we've seen your body multiple times and we love it but I am sure nudity isnt the only aesthetic you have to associate with every era, like where is the fantasy?

I think the Zydeco track is highly likely. Definitely plays into the Texas/Louisiana black cowboy aesthetic.

The way Act I has KNTY 4 NEWS, Act II has Radio Texas and Act III probably has The Echo newspapers... the visuals ARE a multiverse tying all three acts.

I just know my OCD’s not gonna be able to handle it when act i and act ii covers both have a horse and the act iii cover is a motorcycle.

there will be various types of country music represented, just like with renaissance. bey isn't basic, she will explore the genre in all its forms deeply. zydeco will def be represented since she already touched on it with Daddy Lessons and its a part of her Creole heritage
