I know I’m extremely biased but if you’re not a fan of Beyoncé your taste is immediately bad because who’s better than her when it comes to vocal layering, delivery, and versatility?

Don't even want to sound preachy, but it really shows the value of a great SINGLE. It truly is the vehicle for a really strong and mass reaching era. 

 

I have admired and rarely questioned the slower, grittier, and more critically-acclaimed Bey of the last decade (with ST and Lemonade etc). It's literally what's given her the legend status she has now. 

 

However, as someone who has literally followed her from DC to now, it's rewarding seeing her get her dues commercially again with a song specifically. 

 

During the "no-promo", no f**ks era, so many great songs flew under the radar because of the (necessary) brand shift she was actualizing (art not charts). I got it and it's clear she's playing the long game, but this proves that no matter how you look at it, it's impossible to go wrong with a well-handled lead. 

What’s crazy is that when she stopped getting “hits” is when she got even bigger and is now a stadium artist

I wish I only worked 9-5 though lmao

I think Urban was rooting for Sorry hard and kept it afloat for a while. I remember it charted in top 10 iTunes for like 3 months something thanks to radio

Wasn't LOT number one for 12 weeks? And DrIL was a smash too. Sorry wasn't that big compared to those, plus it was the only hit from Lem I think.
