Y'all....Ivy Park may not actually be dead lol. Maybe dead as we knew it. But not dead-dead. The article says she's exploring options etc and is excited about it.

I'm actually quite passionate about the success of her brand, so having flop extracurricular activities doesn't help the overall perfectionism "Beyonce" is renowned for.

In one regard, it's not the end of the world as it's clear people want MUSIC BEYONCE more than anything else and she excels in that more than anything. But I actually want her to excel in ish beyond music too, as it's simply the way the entertainment industry at large is trending.

She's doing great things with Parkwood and is really launching and cementing careers beyond her own. So, that is a really cool "extracurricular win".

If I were her and the plan is to scale back but not kill IVP, I would simply "eventize" the collabs. Balmain drop here. Peloton drop there. But nothing too committal.

There's a part of me that wants her to pair up with Nike or Puma and go-go for it properly. But I can't see that on either end. For them, what's the incentive of picking up a flop brand that been passed around twice now? And for her, even if she can generate interest from huge companies, the Adidas deal makes clear that they will "son" her (presumably) and force her hand for stuff in ways that isn't the case in any other part of her career. It's almost not worth it.

It’s dead. “Exploring options and excited” are just buzzwords to save face. :rip:

guys if you aren't already on the FLO hype train, you need to get on it now. they ATE :WAP: this is what I imagine being a Destiny's Child fan must have felt like in 1997-98 like they are on the come up for sure.

Omgggg whaaaat is thissss???? :WAP: Holyyyy ****… let me listen to all their songs and STAAAN. What the hell… thanks for sharing

And yea Destiny’s Child was the **** back then :WAP: my god they were slaying hard, I always knew Beyoncé has something special, ahhh good old times :smitten:

First off Beyonce & activewear does not make sense. Let’s start there.. that is not the Beyoncé brand. Tbh she should have done a shape-wear line like SKIMS.. Beyoncé should really do an high-end perfume not like heat that wasn’t high end. And another thing Beyoncé is too much into hiding in the house to kick off or start a brand

Interesting insights!

For me, IVP was/is not a bad idea in theory. It's just that IVP almost feels like a better alignment with Beyonce of the past. B'Day-4 times.

From the high-energy behind-the-scenes rehearsal footage we got in docs to her all-out approach to promo, it almost feels suited to a previous iteration of the "Beyonce" brand.

The gworls may light me up for saying this too, but I always found it hella ironic that she (re)launched IVP...an athleisure brand... at her thickest and most inactive performance-wise. Given how "active" the whole thing is built on.

She looked great in all the promos, but there was still sprinkles of irony IMO and a personal nagging feeling that "this all would have worked better a few years ago".

Ivy park could’ve been a major hit if Beyoncé handled it better. Let us not forget the launch. It had social media in a frenzy. Everyone everywhere wanted a piece

Nah I can believe they had creative issues they did the same thing to Kanye.. I hope it’s dead but I won’t count on it

Yeah, this is now the second time she's left a company (Top Shop deservedly because of Philip Green) and this time Parkwood carefully placed this article to try and make it look like adidas's fault. Like it was a very shady exit statement to say she's excited to have control again.

Girl, maybe your control is part of the problem :rip:

LOL. I literally meant to write that they could also just be saving face. The whole article feels like a tasteful leak by her team.

IIRC, the severing of ties was already teased in the "it's underperforming" article and the deal expires at the end of this year. Clearly all involved decided it wasn't working.

Beyoncé can partner up with anybody with IVY Park it still won’t work because it does NOT connect to the brand that is Beyoncé. Sorry, activewear & Beyoncé don’t and will never make sense to buyers

They are cute but I dont see any true star appeal tbh. They serve tribute act

ivy park worked fine as a brand. the first few drops had TONS of buzz. she had the right people in the campaigns and the right pieces.

after Rodeo it started getting stale. and instead of pivoting or changing the rollout style, people lost interest.

beyoncé is an athlete. i know y'all want her to just push luxury goods (but y'all also dragged her about the atlantis dubai and tiffany's so ????)

but athletic wear works for her brand, as she is a dancer and performer and is definitely in ivy park whenever shes not wearing stage costumes.

the problem is she hates promoting things. its not enough to just show up in your campaigns. look at rihanna. she is pushing her brands whenever she gets a chance. the dancers at the superbowl were wearing her clothes and she plugged her makeup during the performance. she does makeup tutorial vlogs, interviews, appearances, just to promote the brand. beyoncé stays in the house. that. is the problem.

lucky! they're skipping the Bay Area and I'm not gonna haul my ass over to Sacramento to see them play a short festival set at Sol Blume.

they should have added a cute Oakland date :gaycat7:we successfully bullied Ella Mai into adding one

The celebrity boxes launch was a huge way the start that partnership. The issue was sustaining that hype.

Ngl those clothes were expensive as hell, I bought a few in the beginning and they were cute... nothing special. I still question how Bey and activewear goes hand and hand. Even a sunglasses line would have made more sense. All she did after to promote were 1 min artsy fartsy clips on YouTube or sent the clearance rack to Gaga, Britney, etc. to post on IG (which is standard basic PR anyway). When you look at how much Fenty, Ariana’s flop makeup line, or the other girls were promoted... there was clearly more effort put into those brands. YouTube collabs, events, etc. Bey does neither for her brand or music, her exposure relies solely on Instagram posts and barely goes beyond that, it’s been dwindling the past decade because she has issue balancing her elusive status and ventures. When you have stans the past few years concerned about that and then here we are pretending to be shocked that the lack of social media presence or promotion is affecting her in many areas commercially.. :michael:

But yes no more Ivy Park spam on her IG. :jonnycat: I stan an entertainer, not an entrepreneur.

I'm fuming FLO's UK shows are already sold out, I didn't even realise they were happening! I would've loved to snag a ticket. :weeps: Their new song with Missy is a BANGER! You can really see DC's legacy in them.

Screaming at how just a couple weeks ago that Wall Street Journal article reporting on how Ivy Park is losing money came out and Parkwood/Adidas released PR statements trying to cover :ahh:

Anyways, I’m happy it’s presumably over now. The company just never made any sense for Beyoncé’s :rip: If I were on her team I would suggest a luxury item like high heels or more ambitiously a hair care/wig line. :lakitu:

Yes!!!!!!!! I’ve been saying heels and accessories for the longest!!!

She should’ve stayed in the fragrance game too!

That's amazing for them! I didn't realise they were so in demand already. :duca: So excited to see them explode onto the scene, like they deserve.

I hope if she continues with clothing she chooses a different brand name instead of Ivy Park :katie:

"Ivy Park" just doesn't work imo

I just think clothing isn’t her lane and I hope she’ll realize that. She has not great tastes (she said park trail or whatever this last drop was called was her favorite😵💫) so she really needs to pivot into something else. Idk why she dipped out of the fragrance industry

Not Ivy Park going under. The latest collection has already been wiped off Adidas site nnn :deadbanana4:I saw it coming tbh. I hope she realizes that apparel is not her thing. With Ivy Park and House of Dereon the GP has sent a clear message that they just want to her to stick to what she’s good at which is music.

The perfumes were successful she could’ve kept that going. But clothing is just too hard and she clearly is not about promoting anything anymore.

She reportedly has a Balmain campaign in the works. Let's not rejoice prematurely

Her perfume ads were always on tv here. IP was at the beginning, but that was it.
