Yup and probably before the tour too. :sistrens:

I own several pieces of Ivy Park (I'm wearing the joggers now) but can she stop trying to make it happen now? :toofunny3: Let it go, Bey!

I know most will be elated at the Ivy Park news, but I really do wonder what went wrong.

Knowing how ish really works, it's not beyond the breadth of possibility that Adidas waved the contract in her face and pushed for certain things. Like, for her to be so inactive but so hyperactive (visually) for IVP, it always smelled like a contractual obligation to me.

That said, no one forced her arm into it and I dually believe she's wanted to make it successful. So, when I ask what went wrong, I'm genuinely interested. "Major creative differences" makes me wonder what their respective visions were.

Also, don't rejoice at IVP being gone just yet. The article makes clear that she's looking to either reposition the brand and/or find it another home.

I've never been mad at it. I just have never understood the strategy or lack thereof. it's like post the initial celeb gifting, it was like...."what do we do?" Which is wild given all that they had in their arsenal: the best marketers, the power of the Beyonce brand, data from the success of Yeezy, and the unused ability to align it with her music.

Its handling was so...odd. Like, she did a whole Peloton deal while owning a whole athleisure line and the overlap/tie-in was the bare minimum.

TBH, it's felt like "something" has been off for a while.

Anyone remember some source claiming that she was miserable with the deal and intimated that BMS was partially about the situation? I remember rolling my eyes at the at the time, but now who knows.

OT: I think the visuals must be loading. Cus sis will need/want something to distract from any possible blowback. Parkwood know what they are doing with this.

Screaming at how just a couple weeks ago that Wall Street Journal article reporting on how Ivy Park is losing money came out and Parkwood/Adidas released PR statements trying to cover :ahh:

Anyways, I’m happy it’s presumably over now. The company just never made any sense for Beyoncé’s :rip: If I were on her team I would suggest a luxury item like high heels or more ambitiously a hair care/wig line. :lakitu:

7 years was long, I don't see how it's a drag? Bey is not as active anymore so unless she is going to go full out promoting a brand, then it makes sense to move on.

I'm so happy Ivy Park is dead. Now she can focus on her music. The evil has been defeated.

Happy I was able to finally make an Ivy Park purchase with the latest batch. I would've been annoyed had this business venture went out the door without me buying a single piece :giraffe:

Did you buy House of Deréon too? You'll likely have more chance to buy Ivy Park for cheaper once they do clearance sales. Be on the lookout.

I hope if she continues with clothing she chooses a different brand name instead of Ivy Park :katie:

"Ivy Park" just doesn't work imo

I'm such a flop stan because it took until now, watching this video, for me to hear those cute whoops and woos at the end :dies:

No. I was too young, and if I remember correctly, it was made specifically for women(?).

No, Ivy Park is a good name. When it launched, everyone wanted to wear one. There are even knockoffs. She just doesn't promote it as much. With apparel, you have to constantly be visible. You have to be wearing it; believe in it. Beyoncé's strategy of uploading a video then dipping for months until a new collection is announced just doesn't work for this kind of thing. Yeezy was different because people actually see Kanye repping it everywhere. He's hyped it in every opportunity possible. Beyoncé probably doesn't want to be burdened with that amount of non-music-related work.

I remember them having a unisex collection but that was 2006 or 2007, I think. I was too young too.

Beyoncé will obsess over her work, spend countless days, weeks, months obsessing over details and making sure everything is right, and then when it comes time to releasing it to the public, loses interest immediately :irate:

She can somewhat get away with doing this when it comes to her music, but not with Ivy Park. She think she can sell the brand without selling herself, and that's just not gonna fly.

First off Beyonce & activewear does not make sense. Let’s start there.. that is not the Beyoncé brand. Tbh she should have done a shape-wear line like SKIMS.. Beyoncé should really do an high-end perfume not like heat that wasn’t high end. And another thing Beyoncé is too much into hiding in the house to kick off or start a brand

Making a clothing line and disappearing  was a choice. Just very weird behavior when you see other girls out and about with their ventures.

That. And making a line that does not go with your brand, the who made you Beyoncé. Ppl need to feel connected. Nothing about Ivy Park said Beyoncé, I don’t care how many stories she told about going to that damn park

since when that combo of shakira being bigger than Beyoncé come from? ATRL and their agenda that spotify makes a singer the biggest act is insane....

Shakira can't even fill a single arena date in the UK.

as a Colombian i canas she is not the biggest act even here in my country

Y'all....Ivy Park may not actually be dead lol. Maybe dead as we knew it. But not dead-dead. The article says she's exploring options etc and is excited about it.

I'm actually quite passionate about the success of her brand, so having flop extracurricular activities doesn't help the overall perfectionism "Beyonce" is renowned for.

In one regard, it's not the end of the world as it's clear people want MUSIC BEYONCE more than anything else and she excels in that more than anything. But I actually want her to excel in ish beyond music too, as it's simply the way the entertainment industry at large is trending.

She's doing great things with Parkwood and is really launching and cementing careers beyond her own. So, that is a really cool "extracurricular win".

If I were her and the plan is to scale back but not kill IVP, I would simply "eventize" the collabs. Balmain drop here. Peloton drop there. But nothing too committal.

There's a part of me that wants her to pair up with Nike or Puma and go-go for it properly. But I can't see that on either end. For them, what's the incentive of picking up a flop brand that been passed around twice now? And for her, even if she can generate interest from huge companies, the Adidas deal makes clear that they will "son" her (presumably) and force her hand for stuff in ways that isn't the case in any other part of her career. It's almost not worth it.

Honestly, that article was kinda giving       FIRED and Parkwood is trying to save face

Girl, not everyone can afford Balmain if that's what her rumored partnership with them is going to end up.

Let go of the activewear and give us the sexy, the glam girl **** she’s known for.

Now IVP was really cute for kids

And she started out that brand with a promotional video trying to be personable at a park :rip: Nothing about Bey is personable or Serena Williams-like to the GP. Her brand is entirely about being untouchable, luxurious, rich, sexy, etc.

Anyway, the ventures need to stop. I’m tired of the clothing brands. I don’t care if your mother is a seamstress. :deadbanana2: Let’s be glad those ugly collage and stills won’t be clogging up her Insta.
