This is good practice in general when it comes to Bey. I think this account just assumes as the rest of us do that it's coming this week/early next.

No tea.

I live in Oklahoma, I’m well aware of that. Brandi has been outspokenly against Trump & Co. for years though - that crowd isn’t going to overlook her political stances (campaigning for dems, supporting movements like BLM, outspoken about trans rights etc), and lumping her music in with them does her a disservice tbh

and i know that wasn’t a super serious post or anything, I just don’t get a lot of queer country so I cling to what I can :chick3:

PURE/HONEY slowed is the best thing ever. It would be so legendary if she had some kind of pre-lude moment of pure/honey with the intro slowed down on tour. I'd also die for an outfit change in between the PURE and HONEY part of the songs. This could so easily be her most visually interesting tour just with the stage and outfits alone, not even talking about choreo yet

The Grammys aren't MAGA'd though :deadbanana4: In fact there is tons of evidence of them being "liberal": Dixie Chicks swept Big 3 after they dragged Bush and were banned from radio, This Is America and I Can't Breathe both won SOTY, Morgan Wallen was shut out last year.

Your average Grammy voter isn't really a Trumpie, but like a 50 year old white woman who votes Democrat and claims to be liberal, but secretly has some microaggressions. They can accept the message of a song like This Is America or ICB which, no shade, are pretty surface level "racism = bad" message, but struggle to understand albums like Lemonade or TPAB that talk more about the systematic racial issues in America, which make that "liberal" uncomfortable.

ok i KNOW im not tripping how tf did we stay at 1751 pages for a good half of a week then magically go down to 1747 (yes i know were on 1748 rn), my search history PROVES the fact that we were already up to 1755+

like wtf?????

im watching a reneigh reaction video, and from the lines "voting out 45 dont get outta line" and "i just entered the country with derringers, cause them karens just turned into terrorists" why she was draggin dem people like that tho

I've checked some Homecoming footage today cause a co-worker told me she just watched it on Netflix and omg it's terrible

Why is she always such a mess with editing nowadays? The random vintage filters coming out of nowhere here and there, the constant switching between yellow and pink my gosh... So distracting and takes me out of the immersion of the concert.

I got a rip of the original live stream from weekend 1 right after she performed so I only ever watched that over the years. The difference is night and day :deadbanana2:

I remember being annoyed by it when it came out and having the original livestream I never really watched Homecoming, only the bits with the commentary on YT/twitter but it's worse than I remembered.

I assume she wants to be responsible for the creative direction of the editing process. :deadbanana:

Having the alternative of a clean-cut recording I just can't deal with it, I'm sorry but it's ridiculous.

I remember being taken aback by a lot of the OTR footage as well due to the editing (Baby Boy gives me a headache to this day :skull: ) but having no alternative you just kinda suck it up and warm up to it.

Moving forward if she'll ever do a concert special again I hope she goes back to the homogenous recording style of TBE.

But most performances were better the second weekend and the recording most times doesn't show the full scope of the production. I'd take the edited footage any day.

Really? I found the opposite actually  The original broadcast is all wide screen start to finish and there's many wide shots of the stage, the band etc.

In Homecoming I'm watching the performance when suddenly it interrupts to an audience shot of her with a vintage filter and a square format, covering virtually half of the screen. Then it goes back to the original for a few seconds, then another square shot of her but it's black and white then back to a wide shot but she's pink this time :deadbanana2: All in the span of 1 minute

I could do without the grainy vintage filters ad the sleepy vocoder narration, but the cuts between weekend one and weekend are immaculate.

I do remember being shocked by how many people were idiotic enough to think she was somehow changing her hair and the colors in a split second though :rip:

I can’t help but to agree. The vintage filters kill me and I prefer yellow night over pink night. She’s a mess.

Sunday will be a good night for her because either

1) She becomes the most Grammy awarded artist

2) wins her first AOTY

3) Both

4) Leaves without winning anything and never returns to the Grammy’s again :penguin:

What? This is such a strange critique because honestly the editing and switching between yellow and pink is amazing and has had nothing but praise from people on Twitter, etc. It was so masterful that many people thought it was colour edited, not switching between two nights.

I don't agree, but can understand why someone wouldn't want switches between vintage filters and regular footage, but don't think it was that bad either. It seemed like the usage of it was to make it feel instantly classic, and put you in a space where you're viewing something through the lens of history. I don't know if that's the intention, but that's what I felt.

You can tell they were good at editing because you never once get the feeling that Beyoncé was dealing with an outfit malfunction in the DC look, whereas you can in the live footage and tbh it was kinda distracting at times.

All in all, I do not think the editing is a mess at all. A mess would be the OTRI film.
