Sure, but we know she's not going to do that... so better to deal with what's realistic to expect from her instead

A final single before/coinciding with the Grammys in Feb, A tour announcement/The visuals , Act II, The tour

I thought we had binned the idea of multiple albums coming is it still a possibility?

I still think this album didn’t need to be a visual one

recording 3 albums is a lot

videos for the singles would’ve been more than enough

I thought she said it herself in the album booklet

I wouldn’t preferred a VMA performance than a Grammy one. All her VMA performances are a slay and they give her loads of time.

If it being a visual album is the only way Virgo's Groove is gonna get a video then it must be done! :cm: She can't just record THAT and not make a video for it

I'd hate living my life knowing she made a video for My Power but not Virgo's Groove :biblio:

Virgo’s groove is the 3rd and last single :cm:

Nope, not at all. We questioned whether Act III is an album but so far nothing has challenged the existence of act II.

1) From Vogue  "New music is coming - a thrilling abundance of it..." This wording is very intentional and the second time she's reference it
1) B7 & B8 appearing on the website right before the album
2)Reports the album was dance and Country
3)Several artists referencing other acts including Dixon and the guys who produced Virgo's Groove
4)The tweet from the NYT writer who said Act ii is an acoustic album (fits the country reference, accoustic can be broad and incorporate lots of genres).

I think overall, the suspicion of things being cancelled or going wrong is largely a misconception. Everything that has been laid out and eluded to is going to happen. Our imagined timeline were just that... And it's clear visuals were never supposed to arrive before or during the album drop.

I think it’s even more impressive how acclaimed Renny is considering how many tracks it has. Anything longer than 11-12 tracks generally get panned for having one too many fillers

I wonder if she has many  left over disco/dance tracks from the Renaissance session? I pray to the stars for a DANCE part 2, or maybe A hive can hack her computer :gaycat1:

I’ve gotten so much fitter since Renny dropped :celestial4:

The drags are non-stop regardless :rip:

she just got a solo #1, platinum album, and is about to score a second global hit yet ATRL is still claiming she's over/a fad.

Highkey disagree here. The teaser having no set date for the release of the visuals shows that they had no idea when things would be ready, which is messy in and of itself. If u dont know when u want to release.sth, dont tease it.

I was literally thinking about what the album outtakes sound like last night :WAP:

I'd prefer a new album over visuals at this point. Like most people have pointed out before, it's not like the visuals are going to move the needle anymore.

Anyone else surprised Broken Hearted Girl has more streams than Diva. Diva has been on her set list since the release.

Totally random, but feeling really proud of Bey and also quite anxious. Stay with me lol..

She's literally venturing onto terrain few stars ever really get to. Like her longevity (on top) and as critics darling +  a current/competitive act is actually almost unrivalled besides the likes of Madonna and MJ.

Even then, as an MJ stan, I can admit where she is now (Renaissance) vs where he was at the same age (HIStory) have her even top him (from a competitive artist standpoint. He's of course the bigger overall artist and legend). So, it really is actually only Madonna who carried on with the top-tier competitive slayage into her 40s.

For as proud as I am (being a stan from early DC to now), it makes me wonder what post-Ren looks like. Becoming a legacy act is a given, but really intrigued about this decade of her career and how long she plans to "play the game". The game being ensuring her eras give Platinum certified, big capturing the zeitgeist moments (like the visual albums), and huge attached tours.

Sure she's slowing down right before us, but she gave a lot of talk when turning 40 about it not defining xyz and pushing back on society's suggestion that women should sit down as they get older. She gave the vibe of doing the opposite, which in and of itself is quite exciting.

Like, her reign is fast becoming a case of not even having legends before her that can serve as the reference point of what we can expect. It's equal parts exciting and nerve-wracking.

Kinda, but Diva is also very meh and is brought to life through her performance and remixing.

Both are of their time but BHG is at least kind of timeless in how generic it is lol. That production though :deadvision:
The difference probably made up by Europe and Asia actually using BHG and completely paying Diva dust.

Good thing we don't have to pick hehe. But honestly music should always come before visuals in terms of importance

The teaser which apparently looks nothing like the actual MV was probably more cliqebait. Note it's a teaser for a singe song, (not the visual album)  but it literally features half the song... It was never intended to serve as a traditional teaser,  it's just there to drum up curiosity and communicate that visuals are coming. The fact that its I'm that girl and not one of the obvious singles also feels like just an intentional bizzare thing done to throw people off and troll a bit.

To me the no visual approach was clear from the minute they announced the album with black and white aesthetics, it seemed very intentional and not some last minute attempt to cover up a delay. Music videos were filmed as far back as March for one of Honey's songs, so if they wanted to have a video ready for the lead single BMS's release, they would have done it. I don't want to say its all part of some master plan, but I don't think the visuals were ever intended to land early in the era. If they were late and scrambling, I think they would be doing more to make up for it, but I think the absence is part of the strategy.

I agree and I had this thought at the start of the RENAISSANCE era about not really having a legend before her as a reference point with the waters she’s currently navigating.

My question isnt so much about how long she plans to, but how long she’ll actually be able to play the game.

Right.

I know most want to light Parkwood up over these visuals, but I was so relieved to see them and Columbia do exactly what they had to do to make her competitive in this climate. Dropping the surprise release strategy, having a long pre-order window, doing the merch boxes, vinyls etc. There was a streaming strategy too when it comes to the right kind of playlisting (TTH, Apple Top Hits etc). Like, they read the room of what would be needed to make Beyonce work in the contemporary climate.

Like you said, there will come a point where the asks/demands of what a competitive act needs to do just won't work for Bey's maturing brand.

Atm she's been able to avoid being a dancing puppet on TikTok while still managing to reap the benefits of the platform. That won't be an ever and always thing. Every single won't do a Cuff It and go viral on an app she refuses to use lol, yet I also sense she won't want to promote traditionally  like it's 2007 again.

So, maybe then is when her success markers will become more about bulldozing touring records and snatching #1 albums (that go on to do whatever in the long-run).

Who knows what these new acts are, but in general I still give her one or two more eras before she morphs into a legacy act or the industry lowkey forces her hand to.

I'd like to think Diva is her very first song of going ratchet; before Flawless, Formation, Shining, Top Off, Apeshit.

Seeing how going viral is a thing nowadays, she actually done that quite a few times, too bad TikTok hasn't exist.

•Single Ladies

• Beyoncé always on beat

• Doctor dancing to Get Me Bodied

• Her hair caught in the fan

Etc.

so when is a sped up version of All Up In Your Mind going to go Viral?? :nicole2:

The song is like the most Gen Z thing on the album once you get past this intro the sped version is kind of fire :wanda:
