  • It was the best concert of my life, bar none. Idc!    It was extraordinary, it was ineffable.  I knew I loved it based on the videos but I... Hey I don't know.    Best moment

I know this award is a joke but the point is, she has cemented herself in history with the likes of Whitney and Lauryn. And on top of that she won an award for a genre that completely ridiculed and ex

She can release 15 Videos at the same time and they wont even come close to what Bey has visually given us over the years

Kinda here for Bey to release her videos shortly after Taylor to embarrass her, not gonna lie. Maybe thats the tactic all along.

People are actually going to watch Taylor’s though

Disregarding the shade - I realized that Beyoncé likes to release around other superstars. She loves the competition.

Look at me trying to serve optimism in the base and yall coming for me with negativity. Proud of yall

I have a feeling the visuals will come at the PERFECT TIME honestly. Beyoncé understands the zeitgeist and the videos/performances are still in demand.

Are we ready to acknowledge that Cardi has dome more for this album than Mrs. Giselle?

We really should be celebrating though. The album is back to #3 on the charts this week. It was stuck at #6 for an uncomfortably long time. The good sis just isn't going to be beating those illuminati accusations I fear.

There's space for all the girls to win...kumbaya...etc. But IDGAF, it will always annoy me to see the girls do ish Bey did/ought to do...but in much tidier and effective ways.

They saying Rihanna has two tracks on the Black Panther soundtrack. Not sure whether it's her "singles-singles" or just music ahead of her proper return at the Super Bowl. Whatever the case, it's clear she and her team are coming full throttle. The music will be Oscar eligible too.

All the girls can win. Yes. But the reality of the matter is that all acts (regardless of gender) are competing for the attention of the consumer, news feeds, and the culture at large. It's about to be all eyes on Rih...which is great (I'm a fan) but also annoying given that Bey has had the entire summer to herself and yet has done/dropped...nothing.

I don't doubt Bey's ability to hang with the girls (she has for over two decades), but why compete for attention when you can shine bright without distraction?

Beyoncé did “Self Titled” better than anyone - which is why she owns the “surprise drop” legacy.

She did the video album better than anyone and owns the “visual album” legacy.

Also, no one has done the Super Bowl better than Beyoncé with “Formation” - she just did not take advantage commercially - which was a very deliberate decision. Maybe she didn’t want people thinking she was trying to commercially take advantage of the Black movement (which no one did). When you think of the Super Bowl halftime, you think of Beyoncé. Just like when you think of Coachella - you think of Beyoncé.

Beyoncé only cares about her art so she just releases and let’s the public consume. I think that is why she is so omnipresent - because her cultural legacy transcends commercial success honestly and people have to keep up commercially just to keep up with her.

You already see it with the likes of Adele & Drake who Beyoncé’s cultural perspective is outlasting theirs. That is why people can only use their favorite’s stats to battle Beyoncé - and once that is gone or declining - they usually get quiet because their impact is usually nowhere as large.

I don't really like the "impact" argument when it definitely can be measured when statistics exist. Bey's Formation performance is iconic, but it doesn't even match her actual half time performance. Stan goggles off, I think Gaga, Shakira/JLo did terrific. Now Bey is one of the most culturally and prolific artists to ever grace the music industry, but I think we reach a little sometimes. :skull:  Formation is a fan favorite and will be mentioned within the Hive, but it's receiving piss poor streams given the sabotage and the MV initially being delisted for a year makes it hard for it to be remembered down the line when it didn't even reach it's max potential: no radio, no streaming exposure, MV not accessible. The release of This is America is what Formation was supposed to be had it not been treated poorly. Break My Soul and Cuff It being smashes, has a far greater chance with the GP and being mentioned if they were asked to name her songs if we're being completely honest. :skull:

What the other girls do does not concern Bey in the slightest. It also does not diminish Bey or her achievements.

I agree with a lot of this but you can be artistic and still be commercially successful. She knows like everyone else that her success can be quantified.

All of this sans the Gaga and Shakira/J.Lo parts.

Exactly. Some of these posts are embarrassing. Nothing changes in Beyonce's legacy...no matter who does what.

ya'll want Beyonce to turn into a Nicki Minaj character and i'm glad she is gracefully secure in her legacy & achievements

Nah, it's human nature to compare.

Michael vs Prince

Biggie vs Tupac

Jay vs Nas

Whitney vs Mariah

Madonna vs Janet

And this is only some. It always have happened and always will happen. She isn't gonna be excluded. Rihanna will forever be her counterpart in the eyes of the people. The Gaga and Taylor comparisons are stan world though.

Even tho they are nothing alike. Bey and Rih always been grouped together; mainly cause they the 2 brown girls to reach that high level of fame/success during their time.
