This is what I want: Everything to get a little nudge like Lemonade.

My only issue so far has been that week where Parkwood/Columbia were shutting down those Twitter fancams of Sailor Moon etc. set to "Alien Superstar" that were consistently getting 300K+ likes and were filled of people asking what the song was in the comments. A missed opportunity for virality, and potentially a new peak for AS.

Wow! Now that's petty and counter productive. Dropping pride is paramount if you one desires optimal success. I'm disappointed to hear that that happened

Some of u guys are crazy.

For YEARS u always go ahead and posts statements such as "Im sure they have a plan, I just dont get it" whenever nothing makes sense.

Well let me tell u sth:

ST and Lemonade and even 4 have shown u that Team has absolutely no clue on how to push singles. Every era was just tragic.

All eras literally died after the lead single release because they failed to make smart decisions. Sending Pretty Hurts to Urban when Partition was BEGGING to become a single? Completely ignoring Hold Ups momentum globally? Not pushing Daddy Lessons in the US? Sending Church Girl to radio and pushing it when Cuff It and AS exist?

Like cmon now, there is nothing to understand. They just don't know what they are doing and are COMPLETELY out of it. Serving parallel universe. Her team is dumb and so is she. And trust me, in this case its not an insult but a mere Observation on my part.

Maybe after all its good ahe doesnt give interviews. I start to understand why

To be fair, ST & Lemonade were her "I don't care" eras by her own admission?? So lets wait and see how she truly feels this time around and watch how matters unravel. It's too early to tell. Yeah I do have to agree to an extent though, with the trajectory Bey is heading at, she and her team are giving parallel universe vibes

Some of you ride her ... so hard, it's incredible. B does care about success a whole lot, her biggest lines are about success but let’s admit her success is cumbersome to her, although she cares not about her fans and clients, I'll help because I adore her : I'm just going to hit play on my Spotify account moving forward. I don't get the same satisfaction listening to a CD anymore.

Most here also didn't buy, listen to The Gift on 1st day and I know fans in real life and on Ukmix that didn't even bother.

Church Girl is an extraordinary song. Good for her.

regardless of how you want her stuff to perform chart-wise, her and her team have catapulted her status in the last decade to places very few have ever seen. they're not above criticism whatsoever, but give them their credit where it's due

and could someone update me on how Renaissance is doing globally chart-wise? is all the doom and gloom warranted? cause I honestly feel it's doing fine in the US.  nothing groundbreaking, but it's still top 10 (will likely have a decent rebound with vinyl), decent streams, she's being compared to olivia rodrigo on this very site, someone who was born after bey already had 4 #1 singles as part of DC and sold boatloads of albums. Like, they're doing something right

I guess I'm saying she's literally one of the most renowned artists OF ALL TIME regardless of her admittedly average chart peaks lately. They're doing something right and for some randoms on the internet to think they could do a better job and to call them clueless is... idk a hot take? Like maybe, you're right sometimes, but don't lose perspective of the big picture or the narrative

that being said, ******* send ******* cuff *******  it to ******* radio you ******* morons

and another thought I had (and possibly a thread idea?), bey is close to being eligible for the rock and roll hall of fame and will likely get in fairly soon. So for current RARHOFers, in their 25th year (when they became eligible), what were their chart stats like? Were they getting #1 albums and singles? etc etc. how would she compare to them?

so many think pieces and discourse over the mere suggestion of a rhythmic radio single push :dies: for the most rhythm-leaning track on the album, no less. chart hive all up in arms about it. she's really the main pop girl of main pop girls. :cm:

Patiently waiting for my demise
'Cause my success can't be quantified
If I gave two fucks two fucks about streaming numbers
Would have put Lemonade up on Spotify

U mean the same eras where she cried when losing her AOTY or where her team has publicly shown the finger when losing the Emmys? Yeah right. She really didnt care lol

do you really think she was crying because she lost AOTY? serious question.

She cried when losing AOTY? Could you please supply proof because I think that slipped my radar lol. Also, please direct me to where her team complained about the Emmys as well.

Regardless, those are AWARDS that are given based on subjective discretion outside of charting/sales feats. The point I was trying to make was that Beyoncé made it almost abundantly clear that she did NOT care about chart performances during ST & Lemonade. If anything, those were experimental phases of her life, hence the surprise releases, little to no marketing and most conspicuously, the making of Lemonade exclusive on Tidal: "If I gave two fucks about streaming numbers, I would've put Lemonade on Spotify". Spotify substantially impacts chart performances but she wanted to take risks in the hopes of Tidal blowing up, to further contribute to changing the music industry in NOT just the album cohesive sense but also profitable monetary sense as well. She was going for IMPACT and did so efficaciously but not OPTIMALLY.

I think Beyoncé and her team are realizing and learning that the direction to take for now is to find a way to be radio friendly, impactful and lyrically true to oneself all in tandem. Now that's the true challenge. I'm just praying she knows what is she doing and that it works the best way imaginable. Crossing my fingers!

Beyoncé is giving Nicki Minaj vibes in terms of NOT capitalizing, yet in the same breath when they don't try is when epic chart performances come out a la Flawless remix, Feeling Myself, Get On Your Knees, Down In The DM remix, Alien, Cuff It, etc. This is so UGH!!!!!!!

Yeah it’s clear that ACT 2 is probably closer than we think and that due to the lack of time for singles she’s not pushing the already viral tracks (CI/AS) cause she wants to give as many tracks as possible the spotlight before she ends the era with dropping the album visual. It’s why she is pushing Church Girl and Summer Renaissance so that 5 songs were in a way heard/serviced to the public before pulling the cord on Renaissance/ACT 1 :coffee2:

I see the logic behind it but it pains me that they didn’t wanna give Renaissance the time to truly flourish. It also explains them taking Break My Soul off pop radio. They are wrapping up the era and the visual are coming in the next weeks. :lakitu:

I realized the visual teaser was uploaded in 4K, but I feel like she's always late when it comes to formats. Now she's late on Dolby Atmos/Vision. :priceless: I really want to hear Reneigh in Atmos most importantly. :biblio:

That Spotify line doesn't give what you guys think it gives.

It just shows that she was wrong loud and severely lacks humility sometimes. Because who was it addressed to? Her fans? Spotify? The GP? Neither has done nothing to her.

Funny enough, she ran back with her tail between her legs. Lemonade is now on Spotify. She did put it there at the end. All her albums after that were on streaming. As a matter of fact the rest didn't even have CDs available in a failed attempt to maximize streaming, even Ren barely had enough CDs available. She was loud and wrong, indeed.

She managed to torpedo her best album, severely weakened her following on streaming and later weakened her CDs following by not making them available for any of the ensuing outputs, all that for a cheap immodest rude line in an album that barely anyone bought or listened to.

She's the most bragging female singer in the scene, she even has most rappers beat, even males. So the idea that she doesn't care for sucess is naive and deceitful.

It was braggadocios-ly addressing the idea that she needs streaming numbers when she objectively didn't at the time and arguably still doesn't because NO considerable profit is made from putting projects on Spotify and streaming services in general and the real money is coming from touring, brand deals, investments etc. The point was that "flopping" in the charting sense only affects artists that lack the capital and fanbase to keep their engine running, and that UNIT SALES are superior and where your song is placed on the chart is an illusion, cause theoretically, a #50 can out-sell a #1 and be more profitable when factoring everything accordingly with the revenue - expense = profit formula.

Lemonade is now on Spotify for bragging rights, not profit bragging rights but she decided to put it on Spotify a long time afterwards in the same sense of how eventually movies get converted to discs to be sold and/or are transferred to streaming platforms: It's giving Gone Girl and Spider-Man vibes. She is making it accessibly free to the GP after the Lemonade era has ran its course. Black Is King is still exclusive on Disney+.

I don't have an argument on CDs since I'm not sure how that works and thus am not totally clear on what the overall point is with bringing that up, but the "self-sabotaging" only proves she could care less about success. I'm not following your point.

How did she torpedo Renaissance? She didn't pull every trick imaginable in the book prior and during its launch. Moreover, her bragging about success stems from impact/actual money generation. She could keep sending us a barrage of songs that will flop and she'll still have the means/capital to be shooting song after song after song that'll be classical hits, which proves the point that she can do whatever she wants since there are no ramifications to "LOSING". The fact that she had to pay all those producers/composers/sampled artists on Renaissance and past projects only to NOT spawn optimal charting placements proves the point that she does NOT care.

I will admit though, with Renaissance, it seems as though she has a longevity streak to prove and she is capitalizing on that to an EXTENT and only time will tell what she has up her sleeves in terms of fully delivering this album. It's more of, "why not?" rather "OMG!!! I HAVE TO DO THIS OR ELSE IT'S OVER" type of deal. Her and her team can NOT be this oblivious to just shun Alien and Cuff It. The fact she even had the mind and ears to put those two songs on the album says everything. If she seriously has nothing in store for Alien and Cuff It, I'm not sure what position I would take in terms of how she is handling this era and what that means in regards to her opinion on charting/streaming.

Wait though, her handling of this era at this point should prove her caring less has always been a thing since 4? I'm confused.

With this rollout... I think Bey is doing whatever she can in her power to make us all unstan, so that she doesn't have to make music for our sorry asses anymore :dies:

Now...I'm not here to slander Church Girl, but this frustrates me, because Cuff It has the potential to be a GLOBAL SMASH! I already know that Church Girl won't be received well here in Australia, probably NZ too.

I can't believe we're in the middle of the era and we're all just here waiting on a freaking Tiffany ad cause nothing else is happening :deadbanana4:

We haven't gotten anything which is why members are annoyed:skull:

So we can assume that there might be a scheme regarding the treatment of the eras: 2-3 singles per act + visuals.

Of course this assumption can be also wrong and she can do the unexpected: Not every act has to be treated the same way.

I think if every act gets a visual for every song it will mean a lot of work for her and her team (shooting the videos, editing, etc.) At the same time she would be preparing for a possible world tour (we know that Bey does rehearsal & preparation up to a year before the tour). It seems like a lot of work but knowing that she's a perfectionist and workaholic, i'm sure this isn't even a challenge for her.
