I love her music videos and what she did with ST, Lemonade and BIK was innovative but she can calm down with them at this point tbh. Every song doesn't need video treatment. Pick a few songs and record videos for those and call it an era.

So we can assume that there might be a scheme regarding the treatment of the eras: 2-3 singles per act + visuals.

Of course this assumption can be also wrong and she can do the unexpected: Not every act has to be treated the same way.

I think if every act gets a visual for every song it will mean a lot of work for her and her team (shooting the videos, editing, etc.) At the same time she would be preparing for a possible world tour (we know that Bey does rehearsal & preparation up to a year before the tour). It seems like a lot of work but knowing that she's a perfectionist and workaholic, i'm sure this isn't even a challenge for her.

I mentioned this earlier but I can’t see how Beyonce can record three albums and then go on to make visuals for each and every song from every album. I don’t think that’s what’s going to happen. If it is, my Gawd!

What should we be grateful for? She gives a service that we exchange money or streams for. So far, so good. She's not God or a cult leader, we don't have to bow down to her autel even when she does the bare minimum or making dumb decisions.

Some of you literally worship her and it's concerning.

If that's the case, maybe staying off the internet where people will have dissenting opinions about her will do you good.

Some are so entitled and annoying that i'm glad Beyoncé is handling things this way. I dont care. If she was focused on bragging rights and success, why wouldn't the videos for Cuff it and Alien Superstar out yet? the songs could have been smash hits already if they had some focus but clearly she did nothing with them since the album was released so clearly she does NOT care. Trying to pretend that she cares deep down and is only playing is some delusional take lol.

She has beef with Spotify because these clowns launched a secret smear campaign against Tidal the minute they appeared and also launched secret attacks on both Bey and Jay stating that they faked numbers on Tidal etc. They were hiding behind secrets accounts and pretending they had sources from European countries to back their bogus claims and all, just because they felt threatened that Beyonce didn't release Lemonade on Spotify back then. A company thinking they are this entitled to an artist's work IS problematic but those who already hated Tidal are going to pretend it was justified and blah blah. Spare me. Beyoncé is an artist who wants freedom for her art first, she doesn't need a damn Spotify even in 2022. What brings money is touring, period. Streaming is NEVER going to make an artist money directly, it's just a way for them to market their music so people can go to their shows. Beyoncé with her years of experience in that industry, following can find many ways to promote her music outside of stupid Spotify. She just doesn't care. She will make her money when she tours Renaissance and the two other acts.

This!!! They act like she's giving us these things for free :toofunny3:

I feel like the “she has a plan” folks are the same ones still waiting on a FWT special.

Spotify is free. Only hardcore fans are going to run to buy merchandise and even most CDs these days. Again in this Streaming age, the music has become a marketing tool for the artists, it ain't directly putting money in their pockets. Even the streaming giants are only making some change for the labels.

We don't even know if the videos for Cuff It and Alien Superstar are complete. Just because she released the teaser doesn't mean its ready and she's waiting to release them. Pretending she doesn't care is the delusional take. Every artist care whether or not they admit it :toofunny3:

Talking about delusional and turning around and giving this take :deadbanana: I mean it isn't too far fetched to believe it at this point. She barely got those streaming numbers on much larger streaming services, with far less pure sales after not releasing solo music in 6 years.

If she doesn't need Spotify then why did she release her music there? She could remove all of her music from the streaming services and it wouldn't phase those companies at all. And the money from streaming is money that would be lost out on if it wasn't there. Maybe if she took advantage of the services she could make more from them.

I like Church Girl, but this decision isn't it. I seriously don't understand how anyone can still defend this.

You have Beyoncé taint lickers on copium defending a billionaire's every move and the little complainers complaining about the same **** over and over. :priceless:

And here come the conspiracies. Market records are out and available, go read them. You don't know what you're talking about. Streaming pays and it is saving the music industry that was shy of collapsing before. Once again in 2016, Drake made more money than any artist in the industry. And contrary to the other big black players, he didn't let himself be suck in a Tidal exclusive deal and that helped him become the streaming giant he is today.

And lol @ smear campaign, Tidal has a ridiculous market share, AM, Deezer and the rest are bigger fishes if one wants to take down rivals.

Nobody asked them to make a conceited, tone-deaf (very on brand) video with a saving-the-world-message talking about all that it would bring them, the artists instead of what it will bring to the customers (marketing 101) to launch a streaming app. That is why it wasn't successful.

Had they led a campaign with Hi-fi quality service and all avantages for the customers and took a step back and divorce themselves from the app a little bit just like Dre did with Beats, the customers would have flocked. This is nobody's fault but theirs.

She's still generating revenue with each stream regardless of how little it is :skull: The freemium users have to deal with ads so money is being made somewhere.

It's not just streaming, that's with music sales period. Streaming is generating just as much revenue as physical albums were in their prime.

Drake has great pure sales and streams as well so it's not impossible to have both.

I'm starting to see a common theme of bad marketing

Anyone who thinks Beyonce keeping lemonade off of streaming was smart is absolutely delusional.

As Prince would say, you played yourself the moment her own husband put his music on Spotify and apple music. There was no smart strategic strategy that went into that considering all facts point to an even more successful era/longevity had the album been immediately released on all platforms. Case in point, ANTI,VIEWS, and Reputation shot Rihanna, Drake, and Taylor into a new stratosphere.  She didn't put it on Spotify because lemonade had run its course, she put it on there because her catalog/discography was slowing down and catalog was getting weak. And the fact that streaming is the future.

That Spotify line doesn't give what you guys think it gives.

It just shows that she was wrong loud and severely lacks humility sometimes. Because who was it addressed to? Her fans? Spotify? The GP? Neither has done nothing to her.

Funny enough, she ran back with her tail between her legs. Lemonade is now on Spotify. She did put it there at the end. All her albums after that were on streaming. As a matter of fact the rest didn't even have CDs available in a failed attempt to maximize streaming, even Ren barely had enough CDs available. She was loud and wrong, indeed.

She managed to torpedo her best album, severely weakened her following on streaming and later weakened her CDs following by not making them available for any of the ensuing outputs, all that for a cheap immodest rude line in an album that barely anyone bought or listened to.

She's the most bragging female singer in the scene, she even has most rappers beat, even males. So the idea that she doesn't care for sucess is naive and deceitful.

I love Church Girl…it’s a fun bop, but an odd, nonsensical choice for a 2nd single. There’s still hope that she’ll service Cuff It as well, but why she’s not doing it immediately is beyond me. At the end of the day, some of us just want more for Bey than she wants for herself.

Lemonade being exclusive was great in the short-term. She crossed 2 million pure sales in the US and 3 million WW in 2016 which was pretty amazing however, the wait lasted way longer than it should have. Ideally, she should've released it on the streaming services after the 2017 Grammy's. The album had peaked with sales but was still relatively new. She also received a lot of coverage from the Grammy's that year which would have been a great introduction to Spotify. I don't think it would've taken 3 years to cross a billion streams if she released during that window.

If Cuff ever becomes a single it will get the Partition treatment. Single worthy but waited too long. :dies:

In 2016 (from Billboard) while Lemonade was rotting on TIDAL:

Bey only made more than Drake because of touring, but he made far more money from his music (sales + streaming + publishing) than Bey made from her music.

Bey (sales + streaming + publishing): $7.5 million

Drake (sales + streaming + publishing): $23.7 million

Drake making 3x more money from his music in 2016 than Bey did (they both had new albums out in 2016) only proves that Bey continues to lose out money from her botched handling of her music where she could be making wayyy more + still making all she does by touring.

To think that she could make all those money by just uploading the album and staying at home :deadbanana4:
