  1. This is the most intriguing post I've seen about this topic. Others posts here are reductive drivel ..
  2. I don't think yall realize Kendrick doesn't even release as regularly as Beyonce and after his GNX run he'll disappear for the next 8 years.. Beyonce loves music/performing way too much to be gone that long and the fact that both her daughters are so invested in her work means that they'll possibly encourage and inspire Bey to continue to drop albums every few years

Really good breakdown !! I agree with everything tbh.. TBE showcased that pure unbridled youthful 'energy' where she was the most ambitious, the most daring here.. pulling all sorts of technical feats out of her bag. this was the hot streak era of her come up that marked the first of her many vocal evolutions.. each era highlighted different facets of her vocal arsenal.. -TBH was where she showed the most vocal freedom and ease across her entire range. -I AM was similar to TBE but she had grown even more refined in her approach and delivery -4/Mrs. Carter Tour saw her grow in depth and maturation in timbre with dark, richer overtones that blossomed her voice beautifully ! - Formation tour was her at her most FEROCIOUS.. she leaned heavy into the increased power and volume that she gained from her first pregnancy .. the grit and roar she had during this era was a moment for me! I can go on and on lol

  5. Where are the pitchfork warriors now?
  6. You’re lying.. she grew up in 3rd ward and since Houston doesn’t have zoning laws her house was amongst others that were considered to be under the poverty line on the same street.. she didn’t live in some gated community amongst white ppl. Houston, especially outside the metro area is very ‘country’ in its culture even if it’s not necessarily in a rural area.. it’s actually rodeo season right now ironically..
  7. This is it. Next year they could very well present the award to some no name that we’ve never heard of that’s been serving lemonade to recording academy offices in exchange for rolling stone articles lol
  8. Is Morgan Wallen a MPB ?
  9. Even excluding Beck, Kacey Musgrave and Jon Baptiste both won in their years 2018 and 2021 and were the lowest selling albums in their category.. it seems commercial success as a metric seems to swing in whatever narrative ppl want to make
  10. Even with don’t even get into lyricism, Mariah is on another level entirely when it comes to composing melodies.. writing elaborate arrangements etc

    You deserve jail!
  12. What is wrong with her!
  13. MJ has been getting snubbed by the Grammys as well for most of his career except with THRILLER where he scored 2 general field wins compared to his peers and his peers/industry elite still grovel at his feet. Like MJ and Prince, Beyonce has a unique star power and allure that isn’t predicated on her latest commercial success or her record sales. That’s why she can have flop side projects that no one’s listened to and pop up at an event incognito late asf and STILL be the talk of the night. Beyonce could be the biggest flop w/the worst sales, can lose every major award and come last place in every commercial metric AND the industry, the media, her peers etc will continue to swoon, weep and applaud at the mere glimpse of her presence.. all the while being a flop has-been. this mythic energy isn’t curated by some falsehood spun by ‘branding/marketing’ (Yvette is actuall a terrible PR person lol).. is fueled from her talents as a performer.. only great entertainers get that type of holistic adoration for some reason in pop culture. exhibit A: 2:30-3:00
  14. Nah.. Beyonce is beyond her prime.. she’s enjoyed her time in the sun many times over. Taylor definitely deserves this and is an undeniable icon in her own right for everything that she’s achieved/accomplished, so the accolades she’s getting like POTY is well deserved! Beyonce is BEYONCE with or without any title.. I don’t know why hive is so insecure in that.
  15. Beyonce being an ‘untouchable legend’ was never merited or predicated on her commercial dominance.. ever. Matter fact there was never a time where she was the top selling artists and Taylor has ALWAYS done better commercially. she’s an established diety in the eyes of her peers, other celebrities and pop culture as an institution.. that type of adoration tends to bother ppl something deep especially other fanbases whose faves outsell her: i.e - Taylor.. secretly they think Taylor should get the same ‘goddess’ treatment that everyone believes Beyonce receives from the industry at large because they feel her numbers support it, but Beyonce gets that reverence because of her beauty/poise and the fact that she’s a mythic creature that leaves everyone spellbound whenever she gets on stage.. this translates to different things like Beyonce walking into an awards ceremony and the entire audience getting up and giving her a standing ovation just because she’s there.. mind you her last album could have opened with 93k and it wouldn’t make a difference.. they would swoon and cheer regardless. That’s what everyone wants for their fave and that reverence only seems to be reserved for Beyonce and other celebrities of the past like MJ/Prince/Whitney etc
  16. Clock it.. Im hive, and they’re annoying tf outta me in this thread and others pressed for no reason Taylor is killing it.. congrats to her! Beyonce is Beyonce because of WHO she is.. not necessarily what she’s accomplished. I stan HER. not her commercial dominance or lack thereof.
  17. I also graduated college that year and really transitioned into a different period in my life. That era is unbeatable for me. Any of those albums skulldrags anything released in 20-23 (that seemed to focus on more mood-board conceptual projects.. i.e- decade based albums (70s/80s)
  18. Bruno bopped us to Zeus with 24k Magic too!! They were all on drugs!!
  19. Stahpp.. the vocals were nicee. I didn’t wanna leave the monsters out!
  20. I’m an RnB/Hiphop kinda girl do these were up my ally.. a lot of great pop albums were released that year as well
